June Weddings
Summer is the most popular season for weddings, and June is the most popular month! Weddings mean planning: flowers, dresses, suits and cake. But, in the whirlwind of details you are also planning the most important part: your future together. While the vision of growing old may be grey hair and porch swings, the reality of growing old together can be quite different.
Health and Aging

As we grow older, our health takes a toll - it is inevitable. Whether we are diagnosed with a physical or cognitive disease, over 80% of older adults will be diagnosed with at least one chronic condition by age 65.
Two Equal One
Our Options Counselors talk with many older couples who are able to stay at home because each individual plays an important role. For example, someone with a physical disease may be able to give directions and reminders to someone who has a cognitive disease. The opposite is true too, someone with a cognitive disease won't be able to remember how to cook or clean but is physically capable. Together, these couples are able to live healthy, happy and at home - but what happens when an incident occurs? Plan ahead...
Advance Care Planning
You're married! Now what? Start thinking about the future. Starting these conversations about serious illness and end-of-life wishes will allow you to be prepared when the time for a major decision comes. The best final gift you give to your loved ones is the gift of your decision. Putting your wishes in writing will allow for stressful times to be easier knowing your voice is being heard.
