Welcome Father Thomas

Fr Thomas First Mass July 1st

Fr Thomas has officially joined us as Priest Administrator. His Installation Mass was held on Friday July 1st, and it was great to see those of you that could make it. It was wonderful to have Fr. Jerry Burns (Pierce County Dean) and Fr. Tuan Nguyen (Pastor, St. John XXIII Parish, Tacoma) concelebrate the mass. We are also thankful to Maura & Jim Armstrong for their hard work setting up and cleaning up for the reception. Please check out some of the pictures from the festivities below.

Join us for Fr. Thomas's Welcome Weekend July 9 &10

We will officially welcome Fr Thomas this weekend with masses followed by a receptions. Join us Saturday July 9th for mass at 5pm with a reception following or on Sunday July 10th for mass at 10am with a Pancake breakfast following. Learn More.

Volunteer!

Thank You to our Meditation Park Volunteers!

The Meditation Park has been a part of the St John Bosco community for 25 years. It provides a place for quiet reflection of our Catholic faith, in a natural setting. The Park is kept up by a small group of volunteers with the help of work parties throughout the year. The last weekend of June, we hosted a work party at our meditation park to help combat the weeds that sprouted up with the rain and sunshine this spring. Our Volunteers did a great job and got a lot of work done. We are also so thankful them.

If you weren't able to make it, but would love to learn more about the park and how you can help maintain this beautiful space, please reach out to the parish office or Paul Mernaugh. There are a variety of ways to help. We have monthly work parties and also have some spaces in the parks people or groups can adopt to help maintain.

If you are interested in learning more or volunteering please contact Paul Mernaugh at 253-324-0245 or [email protected].

We also invite you to visit our website to learn more and view additional Pictures of the park.

Annual Catholic Appeal

Thank you to everyone who donated to the ACA campaign this year. Thanks to your generosity we have exceeded our goal of $58,991. To date 184 families, 27% have pledged $69,866 to the ACA! In light of the economic climate and the hardships many are facing due to an increase in prices all across the board – we are most cognizant and grateful for your sacrifice. Our rebate will be used for rectory upgrades and repairs.

If you haven’t already made your gift, won’t you please consider making a gift this year? No gift is too small. If you’re unsure what to give, please consider a gift of $1 a day or $365 or more. Simply click the picture, fill out a pledge card located in the pews, or call 800-809-4921. Your ACA gift directly supports more than 170 parishes and missions with services like liturgy guidance, human resources, financial services, administration and more.
