Happy July!

We hope you are safe and well! As our governor is slowly opening the state up, we are working on a reopening plan that will ensure the safety of patrons and staff. Stay tuned to our Instagram and/or Facebook accounts for the latest updates! We can't wait to see you!

Curbside Pickup Now in Effect!
The Library is still closed to the public, but we are excited to announce Curbside Pickup!

  • Hours will be Monday through Saturday 10 am – 1 pm
  • Please note that curbside pickup will not be available on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th.
  • Patrons may call the library at 732-747-9649 to place holds for items or by using our online catalog. 
  • Holds are only available for items owned by Little Silver Library.
  • Patrons will receive a call when their item is available and will be held up to three days. 
  • Patrons are asked to call the library at 732-747-9649 from the parking lot and a staff member will bring your item(s) and will leave on a table in front of the library. 
  • All items must be returned in the bookdrop and shall be quarantined for 3 days for everyone’s safety.

Battle for the Atlantic Virtual Program
"Battle for the Atlantic" presented by Paul Zigo
Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 pm

Join us as Paul Zigo, World War II historian discusses the Battle for the Atlantic. One of the crucial turning point battles of World War II which had to be won, the battle lasted from Dec. 1941-May 1943. Dominating the Atlantic was Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine and its U-boat wolfpacks until the Allies adopted critical methods to counter them all. Hear all about this important battle which upon attaining victory, enables the Allies to conduct Operation Overlord, the invasion of Northwest France on June 6, 1944.

Virtual Comedy Show!
Join the fun with Jester Jim’s Virtual Comedy Show! This live broadcast show is perfectly packed with the excitement of juggling fire, spinning iPads, and lots of tricks to keep the whole family entertained! Beginning Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 am, tune in on the Monmouth County Library website or click this YouTube link  to virtually enjoy the event!

It will run for 40 minutes, but don’t worry if you miss it live! The link will remain available for your viewing enjoyment.
Summer Reading is Under Way!
Summer is the perfect time to dive into some great books! Why not get rewarded for it with our Summer Reading Program?

Summer Reading officially began on June 15 and runs through through August 15!

We have reading logs on our website for both Independent Readers and Read to Me Readers ! We also have Summer Reading for Adults and Tweens and Teens !

Print out the reading logs and keep track of your progress. You may either submit the form or take a picture for prize redemption! Prizes may be picked up in the beginning of September.

We've launched our Summer Reading Program with some fun ScienceTeller videos! Visit our website to check them out!
Kindergarten Library Cards
We're still closed to the public, but our Little Silver Kindergarten parents can go onto our website and fill out a library card form!

When the library opens, bring in the form and your Kindergartener will get a card and a special surprise from our Children's Librarian, Ms. Danya!

Here's a fun Sesame Studios video to get your child excited about visiting the library! We can't wait for our kindergarteners to visit!

Book Drop
Our book drop is open if you want to return your books! Please only drop off library books. We cannot accept book donations at this time!
Free WiFi!
If you need to access WiFi, feel free to use our patio! The Department of Public Works just freshened things up!
