Welcome to July Beautiful Ones,

This month, I'm excited to share with you our DREAMS for the future of Rebel Thriver. As many of you know, this year marks our 10th Anniversary, and as we continue to celebrate, we want to fill you in on all that we have in the pipeline for our tribe.

Our Mission

To inspire, empower, educate, advocate, support, and offer a community where survivors of domestic abuse are supported by other survivors. A place to call home, with guidance to create a roadmap forward to a healthy and abundant life, full of hope for a better tomorrow.

This May we launched our first coaching program, Bloom Where You're Planted, in the Village. Next month, we will begin offering individual coaching sessions to women in the Village. Right now I only have so much of me to go around, but one day we hope to have a roster of Rebel Thriver coaches to provide coaching to many more of you for free or at a nominal cost. To start we will run a lottery for the private coaching sessions (keep an eye out in the Village for updates).

"The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned."-Maya Angelou

Our BIG dream has always been to open a private community center for our tribe. A 'hotel for the soul', so to speak. A place to rest, heal, join a retreat, have a reunion, or find respite. A place of healing for all of us. We have been looking for land to build on, or maybe even find a hotel that is up for sale that we could convert to our needs. Can you imagine a SAFE (trauma informed) place for healing, inspiration, and growth? A place where different healing modalities can be offered, along with classes, workshops, and coaching. If you are in the States you can help by keeping an eye out for places that come up for sale that might suit our needs. That includes hotels or properties where we can build our center. We will need guest rooms, a big kitchen, plenty of communal space, and room for a big bonfire. Can you even imagine? I have been dreaming about this for over 10 years, this is going be home for so many of us.

“There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they're falling in.” ~ Desmond Tutu

We are also setting our sights on creating a school curriculum for middle school and high school students. We need to start influencing the younger generation so that they understand how important self worth is, how to identify red flags in relationships, and the importance of building a strong personal foundation. Educating and preparing children for a healthy life is a priority, and a much better solution than having to help heal traumatized adults.

Please give a hand of applause to my amazing core team, Danielle, Leila, Carole, Annie, Catherine, and Cassie who selflessly volunteer their time, every single day to help guide you on your journey. Not to mention, all of other volunteers who help us as much as they can, and those of you who simply reach out on a daily basis to support each other.

Serving this community has been a true labor of love over the past 10 years, but we now find ourselves at a crossroads, how can we continue to grow our staff and offer more resources?

In order to continue on this trajectory of growth we need your help. There are many ways that you can support us. For example, Rebecca, a member of our Village, is climbing to Everest Base Camp in October and she is raising money on behalf of Rebel Thriver. Did you know that you can do a Facebook birthday fundraiser in honor of Rebel Thriver? Perhaps you work for a company that makes or matches grants/donations to nonprofit organizations (we are a registered 501(c)3). Maybe you know someone with means who is interested in helping us grow this amazing community of healing & hope. Rebel Thriver is home to thousands of people from all around the world and we want it to continue to thrive.

To all of you who have generously donated in the past, thank you! A big shout out to those of you who sacrifice your daily cup of joe in order to make an ongoing monthly donation. As a result, our dream of building a virtual Village has come true, and we are happy to report that it is thriving.

"A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." - Colin Powell

It takes a village to grow a village. The simple truth is that in order to build on what we have already created, to be able to offer you even more, we need your help. Please consider this newsletter a call to action for all of us. There's so much to do, we must not lose sight.

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world.”

- Harriet Tubman

“We are all just walking each other home."
