Adult Book Groups
The library offers a variety of monthly book groups for adults.  FREE coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is provide by the Friends of the Germantown Community Libray for all groups meeting at the library.

Copies of all books are available to check out at the Circulation Desk with your library card. Titles and meeting dates are subject to change. Visit the  website for additional details.

  • Books on the Town - Wednesday, July 18 @ 6:00 p.m. - How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry (Group will meet at Uno's Pizzeria & Grill in Menomonee Falls. Patrons will be responsible for purchase of their dinner and beverages. Registration is required. Call the library at 262-253-7760 to sign up!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Great news - the library has increased the loan limits on most of our items. Each card can now have the following number of items checked out:
  • 100 Children's & Adult Books Combined
  • 25 CDs
  • 25 Magazine
  • 25 Audiobooks
  • 10 DVDs (total) / 5 DVDs (new)
  • 5 Children's Holiday Books (in season)
The number of holds has also been increased to 50 items.

Tuesdays @ 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
Join us for stories, movement and music geared for 3-5 year-olds followed by a craft or activity.

BABY/TODDLER STORYTIME (NEW TIMES!!!)
Wednesdays @ 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
Join us for stories, movement and music geared for babies to 2 year-olds follow by playtime.
  • July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1 & August 8 (no storytime July 4)
New Saturday Storytimes
STORYTIME @ THE FARMER'S MARKET
1st Satuday of the month @ 10:30 a.m.
Join us for stories, movement and music geared for children of all ages on the library's outdoor patio. Storytime will last 20-30 minutes and end with outdoor playtime. In case of inclement weather, storytime will he held in the storytime room.
  • July 7 & August 4
Join us for a new activity each week!! Registration is required.

Tuesdays,
June 12 - August 7 @ 1:30 p.m.
(No class July 3)
Join us for an introduction to coding. Each week we will introduce a new programming concept, coding language and fun activity to apply new tools. Beginner and advanced coders are welcome - Recommended for grades 3-6. Registration required at the Youth Services Desk

Books are available to purchase in the library or through the website (additional shipping charges apply). 30% of all sales go towards youth material & programs!!!

Feel free to drop in anytime during the event. All ages are welcome – we will have a variety of projects available for all skill levels. All supplies provided.
Free Memory Screenings
Wednesday, July 18 @ 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.

The Germantown Community Library is pleased to offer memory screening through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Washington County. Memory screenings help identify changes in memory and provide resources to monitor and treat possible changes. Screenings are offered the 3rd Wednesday each quarter. Call Tammy Dickman at 262-335-4497 to schedule an appointment. Visit our website for more details on memory loss related programs at the library.

This month's featured resource is  Gale Courses.

The Monarch Library System is please to offer over 360 online courses FREE with your library card. Courses include a variety of options such as finance, business, computer applications, healthcare, languages, personal development, teaching, and technology. These is something for everyone!!

The library is now accepting donations of baby hats through the CLICKforBabies Campaign through September 2018.

Early Literacy Open House

Saturday, September 9 @ 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Join us for stories, music, sensory activities & more as we feature two of our early literacy drop-in programs at the library:
  • 1000 Books Before Kindergarten (ages birth - 5)
  • Life Long Learning (ages birth - 12 months). 
We will also be featuring new items in our Children's Area funded by the MOMS Club Germantown - West Germantown - West and the Friends of the Germantown Community Library.

Programs and activities are geared for ages birth through 7, but all ages are welcome to attend!
