Free $5 to Ride: City of Rancho Cordova's Pilot Program with Lyft
The City of Rancho Cordova has partnered with Lyft, the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), and Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) to offer the "Free $5 to Ride" pilot program. The program provides SacRT riders with a Lyft code (RCFREE5) worth up to $5 for a Lyft ride to or from light rail stations in Rancho Cordova.

Cordova High School's MACH Program Teamed with Cordova Villa Elementary
Throughout the 2018-2010 school year students in the MACH (Mentees at Cordova High) Program have been both pen pals and mentors to 2nd grade students in Mary Hawkin's class at Cordova Villa Elementary. The high school students are the "Bigs" and the elementary students are the "Littles." In addition to being pen pals, the students went to a River Cats game together, set reading goals and recently held an end of year celebration.

916 Ink: Walnutwood Elementary
Congrats to students of the
916 Ink
program at Walnutwood High School for becoming published authors with their book, Forgotten Fireflies. The 916 Ink program is supported by a grant through the City's Community Enhancement Fund and is now offering summer camps to improve student's writing and reading skills.

Zinfandel Complex Project Construction Reminder
Construction began on June 16 for improvements to the interchange at Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive. The project will add an additional lane on Zinfandel Drive over Highway 50, modify the highway entrance and exit ramps, add bicycle lanes, and modify traffic signals.

Chase Drive and Coloma Road Plaza Project
Construction on the Chase Drive and Coloma Road Plaza Project began the week of July 8, 2019.
The project will further enhance Coloma Road from Ananda Lane to Dolecetto Drive and Chase Drive from Daniel Way to Coloma Road with an enhanced plaza area at the intersection, new sidewalks, enhanced road striping and landscaping, a new street light, and modified traffic signals.

2019 ADA Sidewalk Improvement Project
Construction on the 2019 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Sidewalk improvement Project began on June 24, 2019.
The project replaces section of sidewalk in front of 26 homes throughout the City of Rancho Cordova. The project will improve pedestrian safety and enhance accessibility for residents in Rancho Cordova neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP)
The City of Rancho Cordova is proud to announce that the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) is completed.The project featured new traffic calming measures on 13 streets, and was designed to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists in Rancho Cordova.

RCPD Citizens Academy
Apply now to participate in Rancho Cordova Police Department's seven-week program that provides local residents with information about the police department and its proactive policing efforts, as well as tools and resources residents can use to help prevent crime. The academy will be taught by police executives and veteran officers on Wednesdays from July 18 through August 29, 2019 from 6 - 8 PM.
