AB: July 15 - End of Temporary Suspensions of Monitoring and Reporting Requirements 
Alberta Environment and Parks and Alberta Energy have announced that Ministerial Order 17/2020 and Ministerial Order 219/2020 were repealed on July 15. Industry is expected to comply with all existing reporting, monitoring and approval requirements as of July 15.

Alberta Energy IB 2020-02: Modernized Royalty Framework (MRF) Guideline Updates
On June 1, 2020, the updated version of the MRF came into effect. This version supersedes version 1.1 and is available here .

The following updates have been made: requirements to supply cost estimates has been removed; a new definition of acid fracture for the purpose of C*; added penalty waiver applications and D&C penalty reporting; updates to submitting actual costs in Petrinex.

Manitoba Information Notice 20-07: Well License Extension Applications
On June 10, 2020, the Department of Agriculture and Resource Development (ARD), announced applications are being accepted for well license extension up to 2 years from the original issue date for wells that are set to expire on or after May 1, 2020.

SK: BT 2020-015 – Revised Directive PNG017
The Ministry of Energy and Resources (ER) has updated Directive PNG017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations. U ntil the new version of Directive PNG017 comes into effect on September 1, 2020, the current version 3.0 of Directive PNG017 remains in effect.

SK: BT 2020-017 – Revised Directive S-01: Saskatchewan Upstream Petroleum Industry Storage Standards
An updated version of Directive S-01: Saskatchewan Upstream Petroleum Industry Storage Standards came into effect on June 11, 2020. Important changes include: updates to facility siting, setbacks and equipment spacing; updates to abandoned wells setbacks; additional requirements for pressure safety valves and pop tanks.

SK: BT 2020-018 – Updated Version of Directive PNG001
On June 19, 2020 an updated version of Directive PNG001: Facility Licence Requirements came into effect.  Guideline PNG001: Facility Licensing Process has been created to support the new application process in IRIS.

SK: BT 2020-019 – Accelerated Site Closure Program (ASCP) – Project Nomination Process
The Accelerated Site Closure Program (ASCP) project nomination process was opened for licensees on June 26, 2020. Licensees are now able to nominate their wells, facilities and flowline projects for consideration for abandonment and reclamation. As the ASCP is not a first-come, first-serve program, the project nomination process will be available for licensees if and when they are ready to nominate projects.
