Mike Jamison: What you didn't know!

Catching up with Mike Jamison is not always   easy to do. You may know Mike as The ReStore donation pickup driver always on the go, but his background includes 25 years running the carpenter shop  at a penitentiary. And he has some stories to tell! (READ MORE)

160 beds blanket Pioneer
Courthouse Square!
The guys who broke the world record for the longest floating chain and the world's longest yoga chain are at it again!

On July 10 the 5th annual World Domination Summit will attempt to break the record for the biggest breakfast-in-bed party: Worldwide Waffles. Some 600 early risers will be served breakfast in 160 beds at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Many of those stroopwafels will be delivered on breakfast trays upcycled from ReStore cabinet doors. And when breakfasters get up and on with their day, those 160 IKEA beds and mattresses will move on over to The ReStores and Community Warehouse

The World Domination Summit is all about connecting community, adventure and service. The Worldwide Waffle event brings attention to the inadequate supply of basic essentials such as food and shelter among many in our own community.

To find out more - or to purchase breakfast in bed with 3 of your closest friends (literally) go to WorldDominationSummit.com.

Nan: Clark County First Citizen

We just want to say, "Wow!" That's for Nan Henriksen who has been named  Clark       County's First Citizen of 2015 by the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.

Nan's a former Camas mayor -- and former Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store volunteer. But Nan's creds go beyond that. From being a single mom raising three kids while running her family business and volunteering, to achieving a remarkable list
of lifelong accomplishments bringing balance, order, structure and bipartisan support to issues surrounding local government, Nan has had a plan. We're glad   of it and thank her for her inspired vision and commitment to public service.     (READ MORE)

You're the creative type, aren't you?
Then you'll want to participate in the
Upcycle Silent Auction at the 1st       Annual Women Build ReMaker's    Fair August 22.

The day will be filled with food, fun,         workshops, a refashion demo and             booths --lots of booths!

The ReMaker's Fair and auction will be   held at our Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store at 10811 SE 2nd St. in Vancouver.

The deadline for auction submissions is Aug. 1, so there's still time to get out that power drill, welding torch, craft glue or hammer to create something wickedly cool for the  Evergreen Habitat  for Humanity's  Women Build program.
