Task Force Spotlight: Latino Cancer Task Force


The Latino Cancer Task Force, part of the Colorado Cancer Coalition, is dedicated to improving the lives of patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones grieving cancer by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate education, services, and emotional support. With a focus on underserved communities in more than 20 Colorado counties, their bilingual and bicultural team of survivors, caregivers, and community health workers addresses disparities in cancer care through early detection, stigma reduction, and resource discovery.


Since its launch, they have:

  • Directly supported more than 400 people
  • Provided information and resources to more than 3,000 individuals at health fairs
  • Connected hundreds of people with mental health resources and financial assistance.


Their vision is a Colorado where all communities have equitable access to quality cancer support throughout the entire cancer process.

Upcoming Webinar: Colorectal Cancer Screening in Rural Communities Best Practices Guidebook


People living in rural, remote, and frontier settings face higher CRC incidence and mortality rates, increased prevalence of risk factors associated with CRC, and unique barriers to cancer screenings when compared to non-rural residents. Next month, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT) will release a best practice guidebook designed to support key community partners in understanding and overcoming the unique challenges and common barriers to CRC screening faced in rural communities. 



Register to join us for a webinar on Monday, July 28th from 1 PM - 2 PM MT to learn more about the Best Practices Guidebook and receive an overview of recent data and statistics that illustrate the burden of CRC in rural area. Attendees will receive an outline of the five recommended steps to increase CRC screening rates in rural communities, and explore best practices, and discuss lessons learned from exemplary case study site interviewees.

Industry Roundtable: Iowa Cancer Consortium


In an effort to connect industry resources with healthcare and grassroots cancer control work while centering the best interests of Iowans, the Iowa Cancer Consortium is excited to host a virtual Industry Roundtable on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11 - 12:30 pm MT


Agenda includes an industry panel and Q&A and a 30-minute networking session. Industry representatives, providers, public health professionals, patients, patient navigators, and more are welcome to attend. 

2026 - 2030 Cancer Plan Progress Updates



We'll provide key updates here as we progress on the 2026 - 2030 Cancer Plan. As of July, Task Forces are providing feedback and support on the chapters! Keep an eye out for public comment coming this fall.
