As you celebrate with friends and family, SCV Water encourages you to stay water-wise while enjoying the festivities. Be mindful when running sprinklers, filling pools, or using hoses, and turn off water when it’s not needed. Small habits like fixing leaks, avoiding overwatering, and sweeping instead of hosing down patios can help reduce unnecessary waste.

With hot summer temperatures and increased outdoor activity, every drop counts. By using water efficiently, you’re helping ensure a safe, reliable supply for firefighters, neighbors, and the entire community. Finally, remember that fire safety matters. Leave fireworks to the professionals.

Have a fun, safe, and water-smart Independence Day!

SCOUT DAYS AT SCV WATER ARE BACK THROUGH JULY 30!

Looking for a fun and educational summer activity? SCV Water’s popular Scout Days program is back through July 30, 2026, offering hands-on learning experiences for Scouts ages 6–18. Held Tuesday through Thursday from 9–11 a.m., this interactive program takes place at the E.G. “Jerry” Gladbach Water Treatment Plant above Central Park.

Participants will explore topics like watersheds, soil types, the State Water Project, and water conservation through engaging activities and guided tours. Scouts can even complete requirements toward badges while enjoying behind-the-scenes access and hands-on learning stations—plus earn a special Scout Days fun patch! Scouts may attend individually (with an adult chaperone) or as part of a Pack, Troop, or Patrol. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

GARDENING WORKSHOP FOR KIDS:

BUILD A BUG SNUG!

Let your kids get creative while helping the environment! In this hands-on class, young gardeners will build their own cozy “bug snug” habitats for beneficial insects and pollinators. Along the way, they’ll learn why these tiny helpers matter and how they keep our gardens healthy and thriving. Perfect for curious kids who love nature!
