World of Wolves
Hello Aki!
Meet the newest Wolf Haven residents, Shoka and Aki.

Both arrived here in May from Wolftown, a wolf organization on Vashon Island, Washington, that recently closed its doors. Aki, a 13 year old male gray wolf, arrived first. With his gentle, easy-going temperament, he was well-suited to live with Badger, a 17 year old female who recently lost her mate. Shoka (12 years) arrived a week later. Neighbors of Wolftown had complained about his howling, and a 10pm curfew had been placed on his vocalizing!

Please join us in welcoming Shoka and Aki to their forever home by symbolically adopting them. Here, Aki and Badger can be mellow companions, and Shoka can howl to his heart's content. SEE (AND HEAR) VIDEO of Shoka enjoying his splash tub on a hot day.

Killing Contests

Did you know that coyote derby contests, where prizes are awarded for the most animals killed, are sanctioned and permitted by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife?  We believe these contests are unethical and unsportsmanlike.  Science shows us that they are not in the best interest of wildlife.

Thank You Wolf "Heaven"

Recently the Tamatn Zoo located in Tamaulipas, Mexico, celebrated Mexican Wolf Recovery Efforts with a month--length festival. They organized a variety of activities for kids and adults and Wolf Haven was invited to share wolf-themed gifts. Enjoy the happy faces of the participants that received our little treats.

Thank YOU, Tamatn Zoo for supporting the conservation of such an important species. Long live the Mexican wolf!
