We are also excited to share our Parent Leadership Training: Activating Your Advocacy! This is a 12 part virtual training available FREE to parents and caregivers of individuals with disabilities. This training will be held virtually on Monday and Wednesday evenings from October 11th to November 17th. Learn more about this training below and by visiting our website. 

Finally, this month we not only celebrate Independence day on July 4th but Disability Independence Day on July 26th which marks 31 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law. Learn more about this landmark legislation and more in our up for discussion section!

Parent Leadership Training
Activating Your Advocacy

FACT Oregon is excited to share with you Parent Leadership Training: Activating your Advocacy, a training opportunity for parents/caregivers raising a child experiencing disability. This training was developed to equip and empower parent leaders for engagement in communities across Oregon, ensuring that the voices of families raising a child experiencing disability heard at the local and state level.
This is a 6 week course and will consist of 12 virtual sessions. There is an application process and a stipend of $500 offered to participants upon successful completion of the course. Learn more on our website and start the application today!
Join FACT Oregon for our 2021
All Ability Tri4Youth!

FACT Oregon's All Ability Tri4Youth program seeks to transform the face and perception of disability in sport and recreation. In this, our second annual Virtual Challenge, athletes from across Oregon will participate in family units, friend groups, or individually during the weekend of August 28-29, 2021. Youth and their families and friends will set their own team or individual challenge goals, do their activity(ies) in their local community, and report back through photos and videos to share all the fun and hard work!
