FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Greetings to Our Hub on Canal Supporters
The roster of our events and activities in July is a bit thinner, but no less compelling, compared to higher traffic months of the year. I'll highlight a couple for you.

You'll want to stop by this month to see the new exhibitions in our two galleries. In the Fine Art Photography Gallery, located at 120 Canal Street, we're debuting Rick De Yampert's Mr. Crow Saves the Universe. De Yampert's photographs of crows are altered with various digital processes. Rick calls the results "phantasmagoric, trippy and magical." I just think they're amazing, and I bet you will too.

The Founders Gallery in July will feature our 3rd annual members' exhibition. We're calling it Celebration. There's a lot of talent within our membership base and this annual exhibition gives all of our members, professional and amateur artists alike, a venue to show off their talents. This is always so much fun. Members-only can preview both exhibitions on Friday, July 5th between 5:30 and 7pm. Exhibitions in both of the galleries make their public debuts on Saturday July 6th. Remember that members get a 10% discount on exhibition artwork purchased that day only (plus during the July 5 evening event).

Looking back at June, I would be remiss if I didn't brag a bit about our Summer Camp team. It was their efforts and dedication that allowed us to reach well beyond our previous offerings. We just finished our 4 weeks of camps. They were a great success. We shattered records for most campers ever and most scholarships provided to participants. These are important milestones, but we always seek to achieve more. We'll be asking you in the future to help us reach a greater number of students.

I'll see you at The Hub-maybe on Music Night on July 12? If you like jazz, you'll want to be there.

Richard England, President

In May of this year The Hub on Canal was invited to provide a display of works by Hub artists at the luncheon meeting hosted by New Smyrna Beach's Visitors Bureau as part of National Travel & Tourism Week luncheon meeting "The Arts Mean Business" at the Brannon Center.

For the second time The Hub on Canal has been invited to exhibit work by over a dozen Hub artists in the conference center of Cobb Cole Attorneys' headquarters in Daytona Beach. The installation will be on display through mid-August.
