Family Connection Spotlight:
Back-to-School Celebration
In a few days, Rainbow Days will host our 31st annual Back-to-School Celebration for children residing at partnering shelters and homeless-serving sites in the community. This event is sponsored by CAPTRUST, chaired by Carol Welwood and will feature honorary chair Josh Howard.

Through the Back-to-School Celebration, our mission is to provide students with the necessary tools, including backpacks, supplies and new school uniforms, so they feel just as prepared and confident as their peers. An estimated 1,300 students in need will benefit from this event as well as deliveries of tangible supplies to partnering sites.

Although our deadline for donations of school supplies and backpacks has passed, we are still in need of financial support of our back-to-school efforts. Your monetary gift in support of this project will help provide:

  • $25.00 = a new school uniform for a homeless child in Dallas ISD
  • $60.00 = a backpack filled with school supplies for a student in need
  • $100.00 = the entire Back-to-School Celebration experience for one child, including a backpack with school supplies, new school uniform and attendance at our carnival-style event next week

Rainbow Days Training Spotlight:
Upcoming Trainings
Rainbow Days' Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program is our core service that equips high-risk children and youth with a set of essential life skills to help them: cope with difficult family situations, resist negative peer pressure, set and achieve goals, and refuse alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Registration is open for Rainbow Days Training's August CBSG® Program Trainings:
  • For youth-serving professionals looking to become trained for the first time, our next CBSG® Program Facilitator Training will be held Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day via Zoom.

  • For trained facilitators, on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom, Rainbow Days will also be hosting a CBSG® Program Facilitator Refresher Training. This session will provide participants an opportunity to connect with other trained facilitators and become familiar with the 2022 updated curricula.
