PREPARING FOR SUNDAY

“Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed him mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Luke 10:36-37

God of salvation, your Son was sent to seek out and save what is lost. Hear our prayers on behalf of those who are lost in our day. Pour out your strength and courage upon us, that we may hurry to make you welcome not only in our concern for others, but by serving them generously and faithfully in your name. Amen.

Care of Our Neighbor

The Sunday experience and nursery will begin at 9:15 in the small Sunday School Room. If the weather is lovely, we will head outdoors to read a story about neighbors and enjoy each other's company. After all, our neighbors include both those near and those far. We will also draw a picture of "flat Jesus." We take Jesus with us wherever we go and that includes vacations in the summer!

Will your family be traveling this week? Then you can make your own flat Jesus and take him with you on your trip. There are some examples of flat Jesus on the St. Martin's Family Group Facebook page or you can be creative and draw them freehand. Cut out your drawing so Jesus looks like a paper doll. Laminating flat Jesus helps, too. Ms. Deb would love to see pictures of your travels when you return because sharing our wonderful adventures is another way of showing we care.

P.S. Adults, grandchildren, as well as any neighbors can draw a flat Jesus, take pictures over the summer, and share them with Ms. Deb, too!
CCI Centennial
A Time to Remember

In collaboration with St. Martin’s, Christ Church, Ithan is planning a special centennial celebration on Sunday, November 10th (revised date to accommodate Bishop Michel). The event will commemorate the first church service celebrated in the new church building 100 years ago. CCI invites everyone to join in the recognition of this historical milestone.
Bible Study News
July Sessions

The name of our Bible Study Group is "Approaching the Gospels Together" Network. Everyone is on a spiritual journey and has experiences that enrich the conversation. It is really a Bible discussion. No prior experience with Bible Studies is needed. Join us and delve into the synoptic Gospels. Each week a group of adventurers read and explore God's Word. At times the journey takes us in unexpected directions! Books and refreshments are provided.

NOTE: Because there is no "Upper Room" in July or August, the Bible Study group voted to begin at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:15. Our meeting place for July is in the parish hall at Christ Church (536 Conestoga Rd, Villanova, PA). Please contact Deb Parker to learn more.

If you would like to learn more about Approaching the Gospels, please visit the website or Facebook page.
All Levels Yoga Class
Breathe, stretch, and destress!

The next St. Martin’s yoga class will be on Tuesday, July 23rd, at 6:30 p.m in the Gurley Room. Come and enjoy this opportunity to indulge in some self-care. It's a great mind-body-soul experience!
Outdoor Worship
Blessing of the Animals

St. Martin’s will host a Blessing of the Animals outdoor event on Sunday, August 11 th , at 9:30 AM. The morning will begin with a worship service and blessings for our furry, feathered, and scaly guests of honor followed by a fellowship hour that’s complete with iced tea and treats. All pets must be properly restrained on a leash or in a carrier. Does Fluffy not travel well in a kitty carrier? Does Fido not like other dogs? Is Goldie a fish? Not to worry! Join the party with a pet photo for a remote blessing. Come – Sit – Stay!!
Socks for the Homeless
Making a Difference

Our collection of white socks for the Joy of Sox organization is an ongoing effort. The basket for drop-offs is located in the downstairs lobby of church. Please contact Carlie Hutton if you have any questions about this project. Thanks for your support!
