We are reopening soon!
July 6 can't come soon enough for fans of the Elliott Museum and House of Refuge. That's the date that both of the Historical Society of Martin County's museums are reopening after the COVID-19 imposed shutdown.

The staff has been hard at work behind the scenes energizing the museums and are more than ready to welcome you!

In the gallery space, you can be among the first to see this impressive private collection of 22 classic British motorcycles, owned by Jim and Dee Thomas. The bikes span from the 1930s to the 1970s and represent famous makers such as Triumph, Norton and BSA along with rare makes that include Matchless, Royal Enfield and Velocette.
The exhibit includes timeless collectibles including the Triumph Bonneville and Norton Commando and also will showcase the world class café racers from famed English manufacturers.

To complement the British Bulldog Bikes exhibition, the Art Down the Hall collection is a show of sculptural and contemporary art by Chad Periman featuring recycled, repurposed mixed media, and fine art of photographer Mark Stall, showcasing cars and motorcycles.
... and there's more! The freshly polished
“Wheels of Change” Car Gallery
has several new items on exhibit, including:
A beautifully restored  2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Florida Highway Patrol Cruiser, donated by Bill and Patti Spurling.
An impressive collection of artistically crafted vintage radiator mascots (aka hood ornaments) from the early 1900s through the 1940s.
A display wall of antique stock certificates from an assemblage of now defunct auto companies. Take your time to see all of the details.
You will see all of this and much more! S ummer is the perfect time to literally have a cool time visiting both air-conditioned museums. The Elliott Museum’s hours of operation are from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Sunday and the House of Refuge’s hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
