July Event Highlights

Story Stations

Age ranges are suggested, but all ages and abilities are welcome. Engage your child with self-directed learning stations that develop the five early literacy practices of Read, Write, Sing, Play, & Talk, plus kindergarten readiness skills. After the program, pick up your take home packet with more activities!
25-minute walk-in or online appointments are available 30 days in advance and are limited to just your household or group.

Bilingual Encanto (English /Español)

Best for ages 3-8. Bring the Magic with Mirabel and her Family Madrigal for activities and fun in this self-directed English-Spanish bilingual program. Based on the Disney animated movie Encanto, you can visit Antonio's veterinary clinic, create flower art with Isabela, dance with Felix & family, and more! After you've finished, pick up a take home packet with a craft and other activities.

Move Together with CoComelon

Best for ages birth-5.Join JJ and friends in this encore presentation of our movement-focused program! Littles will hop, crawl, stroll, read, sing, and sort in a variety of activities introducing the 5 early literacy practices of Read, Write, Play, Sing, & Talk. After the program, pick up your take home packet with more activities!

Live By Appointment

Enjoy these by appointment programs for older kids/teens and their grownups! Your group will be the only people in the room and 25-minute walk-in or online appointments are available 30 days in advance.

Minute to Win It Family Challenge

Best for ages 6-18 with with parent or caregiver. Enjoy your own private appointment to compete with your group with six fun Minute to Win It (MTWI) challenges that range from easy to hard to practically impossible! After you've finished, pick up your take home packet with more supplies and ideas for MTWI activities to do at home.

Rule of Sevens Escape Room

Best for ages 10-18 with with adult; or adults. Enjoy your own private appointment to work together with your group and solve the Rule of Sevens mystery - Uncle Septimus Sjöberg has died, and you have just 25 minutes to solve the mystery of how the murder happened and who is the heir!

July Art Space: the art of Yuyi Morales

Best for ages 3 & up

Visit the Children's Area at your library during open hours to create a fun project inspired by the art of painter, illustrator, and author Yuyi Morales. Use gel crayons and sparkly stickers to decorate a Yuyi-style butterfly, then stay for the art-themed scavenger hunt as well!

Family Mini-Golf 

Best for ages 3 & up with an adult. Pop in during library open hours and have a HOLE lot of fun at this self-directed mini-golf course based on some of your favorite books! No registration or appointments are required, just pick up the supplies at the librarian's desk.
