Furniture Install

Underway at the Library!

Furniture installation is currently underway at the Library! To accommodate this exciting phase of the project, the Library will remain closed through July 5. We look forward to welcoming patrons back on Monday, July 6, with modified hours for the remainder of the month.

Throughout July, Library staff will be hard at work unpacking, organizing, and reshelving materials as we prepare for full operations. We anticipate resuming our regular hours sometime in August.

Services Resuming July 6

  • Express computer use (two public computers will be available)
  • Printing, scanning, faxing, and copying services
  • Passport and notary services by appointment only
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten project bags
  • New books
  • Hold pickup and returns
  • A limited selection of materials available for browsing as items are unpacked and shelved
  • More services will become available throughout the month


Modified Hours Effective July 6

Monday–Thursday: 12:30 PM – 8:00 PM

 Friday: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM

 Saturday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 Sunday: Closed for the summer

Unearth a Story

Adult Summer Reading Challenge!

July 6 - September 4

From July 6 – Sept. 4, all adults 18+ are encouraged to download or pick up a “Gems of Summer” reading log. Keep track of the minutes that you spend reading this summer. For every 3 hours of reading, you can choose a prize! Redeem as you go or save up to pick more prizes at the end of summer. Finish a sheet? Grab another and keep reading!

MFL Walking Club

Adult Tour:

New Windsor Cantonment Historic Site

Thursday, July 9, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Meeting Location: New Windsor Cantonment Historic Site

374 Temple Hill Road, New Windsor, NY

Let us continue the celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday! Join us where General George Washington and the Continental Army spent the last winter and spring of the Revolutionary War. Participants will find costumed staff demonstrating musket drills, blacksmithing, and military medicine. Experience history come alive and discover the bravery that shaped our nation at this historic site.

Transportation not provided.

Book Club

All are welcome to attend our Book Club! During August's meeting, we will be discussing A Walk in the Park: The True Story of a Spectacular Misadventure in the Grand Canyon by Kevin Fedarko.


Copies are available to pickup at the circulation desk.

Youth Programs

As construction at the Library continues, most of our youth programs will be held at the Town of Marlborough Community Center, located at 1520 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY 12542. Please note the location for each individual event.


Registration is required for select programs.

Starting July 6th, kids, tweens and teens are encouraged to stop by the Library to pick up our fossil-themed summer reading challenges!

Read books, color in fossils, and earn prizes!

Wild & Bright

Reptile Show!

Wednesday, July 8, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Under the pavilion at Cluett Schantz Park

(1801-1805 Route 9W, Milton, NY 12547)

For ages 5 and up.

Children must be supervised by a caretaker during this event.


Join reptile educator Maureen of Wild & Bright for an exciting and engaging program featuring live, up-close reptiles! We’ll be learning all about reptiles, their skeletons and unique adaptations, as well as how they evolved from dinosaurs!

The Jester Jim Show

The Nutty Scientist has time traveled into the world of the dinosaurs! Marvel at the creatures who led to their evolution and the monstrous sizes of the giants who walked our Earth- and you won’t want to miss the meteorite strike!
