Last chance for survey participation!
Tomorrow is the last day to complete the member survey as part of the Chicago Dental Society's goal to update its Strategic Plan based on your feedback.

Participation has been solid, and we thank those who have taken the survey for sharing your priorities, particularly as the pandemic has affected the dental profession. Your opinions will help direct decision-making as it affects the local branches, the Midwinter Meeting and more. Your voice has never been more important.

The survey should take 10 minutes and all answers are confidential. Responses will be compiled and reviewed by a consultant, then a summary report will be posted on the CDS website this fall.

Deadline approaching for Feldner Leadership Award nominees
Nominations are due July 29 for the second annual Loren J. Feldner Leadership Award.

Created to honor the dedication and dynamic influence of Dr. Feldner, the Leadership Award is presented to a member dentist or a non-dentist who possesses the ethics, leadership, passion and spirit that Loren brought to the dental profession, his patients, organized dentistry and the dental community at-large.

The award will feature an engraved statue and a $500 donation in 2022 to the Dental Lifeline Network Heroes Challenge Fund donated in the recipient's name in honor of Dr. Feldner. Dr. Feldner, who was deeply involved in CDS, state and national dental organizations and causes, died in 2019 at age 58.

1,122 clicks to Find a Dentist tool during ad campaign
The numbers are in from the June Oral Health Month digital ad campaign!
 
In Google and Facebook ads that ran the month of June, a total of 1,122 people clicked on the "Find A Dentist" tool that allows the public to search for a nearby dentist by ZIP code. That's about one-quarter of our membership! Traffic to the CDS website jumped nearly 28% from the month before – and 71% compared to June 2021 -- during the run of the campaign as visitors looked for dentist information.

Pointing patients to the Find a Dentist tool is the fastest way for CDS to direct patients to you, so please remember to make or update your profile at ADA profile!
CDS Review Classifieds: More readable, better member price
The Classified Advertising section in the CDS Review has undergone a few changes, including a price revision that makes being a member pay off big.

Effective immediately, there are now two options: a Standard ad and a Premium ad that has a gold/yellow highlight to make it stand out. An online-only logo or picture can be added to a Premium ad for an additional cost. Classifieds are priced on a per word basis with a base price for each type up to 30 words with an additional cost for each extra word.

Gone is the “Display” ad option that presented as reverse type (dark background and white lettering) and was priced at a per-column inch basis.

Members who log into the CDS website when placing an ad will get a special Member rate, that accrues to greater cost savings than the previous 10% overall discount. Ads will continue to appear online for 60 days for each issue purchased. Place your ad in the Classifieds Section to reach a targeted audience you can't find anywhere else!
Patient insurance plans focus of Sept. 14 Regional Meeting
The whole dental team can benefit from the next Regional Meeting when dental insurance expert Tom Limoli, Jr., presents a comprehensive roadmap for working with patients' dental benefit plans.

You and your staff, particularly those who handle insurance claims, can build knowledge and skills to more efficiently code and process insurance claims as well as provide "added value" for your patients.

Regional Meetings are free of charge for CDS members and for their staff. Attendees will earn 5 CE credits.

The Nov. 9 Regional Meeting will focus on patient substance use and abuse that affects dental treatment. This program will fulfill the state's controlled substance licensing requirement.
