What does July mean to you? For us it signifies the arrival of glorious summer and long days of light filled with outdoor excursions, swimming, all sorts of fun ..... and art! Indeed if you're in London , you still have a few more days to catch Alyazia Bint Nahyan's solo exhibition at Pi Artworks , which we were proud to have reviewed in The National . Thank you too to all those who have already visited the exhibition.

Continuing our theme of covering different art forms, in this month's Art Matters we feature the age old tradition of tapestry, which in recent years has witnessed a resurgence.

And for our Inspiration section, we look at Iranian artist Shirin Abedinirad 's stunning installations in the desert and more.

If you're off on your holidays this month, we wish you wonderful travels and memorable occasions.

With all best wishes from the JRFA team.

Janet Rady,  Gallery Director and Curator

Since the 2011 Arab Spring street art has been a vehicle for political discourse in the Middle East, and has generated much discussion in both the popular media and academia. Yet, this conversation has generalised street art and identified it as a singular form with identical styles and objectives throughout the region.
