Canada Day

Celebrate Canada Day on July 1 with exciting festivities at the ROC and Georgina Village Museum. Bring the family for live entertainment, children's activities, inflatables and delicious food. As night falls, relax and enjoy spectacular fireworks. Avoid parking delays and take advantage of complimentary shuttles to and from the ROC all day long. High Street improvements Open House

You are invited to attend an open house on the High Street Streetscape and Infrastructure Redevelopment project on Tuesday, June 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.at the Kin Community Centre in Sutton. The open house will feature an informal drop-in format, with illustrations of the main recommended design concepts on display. To learn more, visit georgina.ca/HighStreet.

NYSS OHT Health and Wellness Series

In partnership with the Town of Georgina, the Northern York South Simcoe Ontario Health Team is running a Health and Wellness Education Series throughout the community. The series will feature 10 in-person sessions, four virtual sessions and two special engagement events. Topics for the wellness series include aging, mental health, caregiver support, chronic disease and more. The first session is Caring for the Caregiver on June 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the MURC. Climate Action Plan

The Town of Georgina has released its first Climate Action Plan. It outlines the top climate risks for the corporation and broader community, and the priority actions to take in the next five years. These actions will help Georgina adapt to current and future risks of climate change, protect Lake Simcoe, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Learn more at georgina.ca/ClimateAction.

Lake Drive Improvements Phase 1

The work has started to transform Lake Drive into a seasonal multi-use pathway from Civic Centre Road to South Drive. Vehicles will travel one-way eastbound along this length of Lake Drive East. The work includes pavement markings, signage installation, traffic calming (flex bollards, pedestrian crossing, speed humps installation), and more. The improvements are anticipated to be in place for use prior to the end of June. Learn more at georgina.ca/LakeDrive.

Dirt bikes in Georgina

Dirt bikes are not allowed on Town roads or municipal property, including parks and trails. The Town wants to want to remind everyone to ride responsibly and only in permitted areas. Dirt bikes can only be used on private property with the owner’s permission. Staying safe and respectful allows everyone to enjoy our outdoor spaces. Council meetings are a hybrid model, providing staff, Council members and the public the option of participating either in person or virtually.

  • June 18 – 9 a.m.


Anyone interested in speaking during the public portion of the meeting may attend in person or virtually. To participate virtually, pre-registration is required.
