Hello Compass Center Friends,

We hope you're doing well and enjoying the snowy start of the new year.  While we closed the office for a couple of days last week, our crisis line continued to operate thanks to our devoted staff and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who kept things going despite the weather!

We are jumping into 2018 feet first with exciting new programs, welcoming new board members, new community partnerships, and a lively fundraiser at the end of the month.  See all of the details below.  It's a fantastic start to the new year!

Warm regards,

Chapel Hill Tire Donates $1,000 in Car Repairs to Compass Center Client!

Cordelia Heaney of Compass Center for Women and Families, Ron Stutts of WCHL and Chapelboro.com, Marc Pons of  Chapel Hill Tire, and Edgar Olivieri from Grace Church of Durham gathered for the announcement of   "12 Days of Christmas" contest winners.

In December, Chapel Hill Tire launched a new giving program titled "12 Days of Christmas." The full-service auto shop with 5 locations across Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham, celebrated the season of giving by awarding $1,000 in car care to worthy recipients. More than 300 people were nominated  with 12 people being awarded a prize. A Compass Center client was nominated (with permission) and WON!

Compass Center Executive Director Cordelia Heaney appeared on WCHL to talk about what the award means to the client:

"We nominated her because we really want to try to make sure our clients have everything they need on their path to self-sufficiency. This kind of support is life-changing."
