This was the busiest June ever for us! In the month of June, we had 725 visits to the food pantry and provided 21,703 meals worth of food to our neighbors in need.

We are committed to ensuring everyone in our community has enough to eat and has access to the most nutritious food. Thanks to you, and all of our generous donors and partners, we have been able to keep providing for all that come to us.

Our Lunchbox Kids Program is in full effect! Each summer we provide over 15,000 meals to local children, in addition to the regular 3 bags of groceries that we give to their families each week. The food we are able to offer is dependent on community support. For the last several months, we have been spending over $2,000 a week to purchase the food we need.

Since June of 2022, we have seen an unprecedented need for our support. Every month since then has been the busiest for that month ever in our 43-year history. To date, we have served 176,025 meals this year. That is more meals than what we had provided through November 15th of last year.

Families are really struggling to make ends meet, and we are so proud to be able to ensure no one will go hungry in our community!

Out of all of the meals we've provided in the past 12 months, 123,641 have been to children in our community. When school is not in session, many parents rely on us to help feed their families. We are so grateful to you and all of our partners to be able to do what we do!

For many kids summer is something to look forward to. But for a lot of the children we serve, it is a time of loneliness and uncertainty. Parents are busy working, and the high cost of camps and lack of transportation often means low-income families cannot participate.

Our Assistance Program serves local children all throughout the year. At the beginning of each school year, we give backpacks packed with school supplies and provide clothing, shoes, and coats. Here are but a few examples of what else our Backpack Kids support provides:

  • Scholarships for summer camp to make sure all kids are busy and safe.

  • Fun experiences they might not otherwise get in partnership with the Southampton Town Youth Bureau to do trips to Splish Splash, Adventureland, and canoeing.

  • The cost for HS students to take BOCES exams to be certified in areas that will help provide immediate job opportunities upon graduation.

  • Sporting equipment, instruments, and school concert attire for students to participate in programs of interest to them.

  • Tanger Outlet gift cards to students in need of new clothes, shoes, and coats.

4. How does one register for the food pantry?

One can register ahead by calling our office (631-283-6415) to speak with our bilingual staff. New customers are welcome to visit during food pantry hours- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. Upon arrival, they will be asked to fill out a registration form and provide valid identification. This form is used solely for reporting numbers to the food bank so we receive enough food to feed our customers.

Our mission is simple - to help people in our local community who are in need with dignity and without discrimination. For the past 43 years, we've been able to do that together. We thank you!
