Take advantage of interstate collaboration by visiting the link above any time to see in real time the innovative ideas from across the country that MEPs are implementing to engage and support their at-risk high school students and OSY during the summer.

Speaking of engagement and support…

Regardless of the quality programming and services your program has in place for the summer, reviewing and understanding best practices in engaging and building relationships with high school students and OSY is critical and can make or break the success and effectiveness of your entire summer program.

The OSY Relationship Building Manual found here is a tool with 10 suggested areas of practice that your program can implement to best engage and support OSY. Each of the 10 areas includes a brief introduction, strategies and tips, and a self-reflection rubric for service providers to hone in on their capacity to build relationships with OSY.

With Fathers’ Day in June, let's give a shout-out to our high school students and OSY who are young fathers or play an important father-figure role in the lives of a child or children.

How can we best support the unique educational and instructional needs of students and youth who are fathers or play a father-figure role in the lives of others?

iSOSY’s Pathway Guides can be used as a platform to discuss high school equivalency diploma (HSED) and credentials and certification options with young fathers or any OSY ready for that next step.

Check out iSOSY’s Pathway Guides here. The guides are designed to help service providers support migratory students toward obtaining an HSED, no matter where they currently are in their academic journey. Each guide is organized by academic experience and takes into consideration important factors such as mobility, legal status, and language abilities. Using this resource, MEP service providers will be able to assist students regardless of different circumstances.
