June/ July 2025
From the Dean's Office...
Mike Boutin, EdD, ACC
Asst Dean for Faculty & Student Success,
SHRS
"Summertime....and the livin' is easy...." I can still hear Audra MacDonald singing that sultry song from Porgy and Bess in the award winning pre-Broadway production at the American Repertory Theater. It was one of those moments that took my breath away and really capture the feeling of summer for me.
I hope you have those moments this summer as well. At the beach....in the mountains....in the city...with a good beach book...or a glass of wine...or a cold beer. With friends....family you haven't seen in a while (and may be happy to not see again for a while!): moments that take your breath away, that provide perspective and meaning, and help to make the tough days more manageable.
Summer time isn't just leisure time, though, at least at SHRS: we just welcomed new cohorts of students, and our summer semester is underway. Faculty are teaching, students are in clinics doing amazing work and learning so much. There really never is a dull moment at the IHP, is there?
In the midst of the busyness, I hope you get a chance to unplug, to breathe deep, and to take care of yourself. You deserve it....
