Hello All,

Last month I told of the West Coast unionized port workers contract expiring. Negotiations are taking place now, with both parties hoping to have a new contract by July 1st. After reading several articles on the US Ports this month, it is a tragedy that the busiest ports on the west coast rank as some of the least efficient in the world. It would seem to me that investing more in technologies, space, and people is long overdue.

Amino Acid prices have been coming down. Will it last? That is the question everyone is asking themselves. You can make a good case for them to go down or up in the future.

Avian Influenza seems to be wrapping up. It is my belief, growers were much better prepared than in 2015

I wished for changes in May, one was the weather. (I wanted it warmer)  I should have been more specific. The week of May 9th was rough, it was humorous to see several PALS employees that Monday morning peering out the front doors in amazement of how dark it was.  Rain and hail kept a couple employees in their cars waiting for it to pass before they came in “late” at 8:15 am. Wind & rain caused a lot of damage all month long.

June is a busy month for me.
June 3rd Tomorrow, my wife and I are having a garage sale.
June 7th, 8th, & 9th I will be in Iowa attending World Pork.
June 14th & 15th I will be in SD for Meetings.
June 20th – 25th I will be in Canada fishing with 3 of my 4 brothers.
Throw in graduation parties, birthdays and my wedding anniversary, I am bound to forget something.
