June: Prioritizing You
Self-Care Strategies for the Month Ahead
Hey friends,
Let’s take a collective breath together… inhale peace, exhale pressure.
June is here, school is winding down, and while summer may bring more time at home, it doesn’t always mean more time for ourselves—especially as caregivers. In fact, this season can add even more weight to our already-full plates. That’s why this month, we’re flipping the script and making room for something that too often lands at the bottom of the list: self-care.
Not the bubble bath version (unless that’s your jam)—I’m talking real-life, bite-sized self-care strategies that help you stay steady, supported, and strong. Because when you’re pouring into everyone else, you deserve to be poured into too.
As acertified special needs life quality coach, and a mom who’s been in survival mode more times than I can count, I know how easy it is to lose yourself in the chaos. This month, I’m inviting you to come back to you—with intention, compassion, and a little community support.
Let’s do this together.

🧘♀️ The Caregiver Self-Care Shift: Tiny Changes, Big Impact
Here are a few gentle ways to build self-care into your everyday routine—without guilt and without needing a weekend away (though wouldn’t that be nice?).
✔ Start with One Small Thing: Whether it’s a 3-minute stretch, a glass of water, or standing outside and breathing in fresh air, small shifts add up.
✔ Put Yourself on the Calendar: Literally. Choose one block of time this week to do something just for you—write, walk, call a friend, read a chapter. You matter.
✔ Create a Reset Ritual: When you feel the overwhelm creeping in, pause. Put your hand on your heart, take three deep breaths, and say: “I’m doing my best. That’s enough right now.”
✔ Protect Your Peace: It's okay to decline the playdate, the extra meeting, or the neighborhood event. Saying “no” is a form of self-care.

🌟 Community Spotlight: Coaching That Brings You Back to Center
This month, I want to spotlight a mom I had the privilege of coaching—let’s call her Sarah.
Sarah came to me feeling like she was drowning in appointments, paperwork, and parenting stress. She wasn’t sleeping, wasn’t eating well, and hadn’t done anything for herself in months. In just a few sessions, she began building a rhythm that made space for her—not just her child’s needs.
🌟 She started journaling in the car during therapy sessions.
🌟 She stopped feeling guilty for hiring a sitter once a week.
🌟 She began advocating with more confidence—because she wasn’t running on empty anymore.
Now? She’s managing the chaos with more calm, and most importantly—she feels like herself again.
That’s the power of support. If you’re feeling lost in it all, I’m here. Let’s map out a way forward together.

🌼 Father’s Day Love: For the Dads in the Trenches
This month we’re also celebrating the dads who are rocking the role of caregiver, co-pilot, and champion. Whether it’s holding it down at IEP meetings or being the calm during a meltdown, we see you and we honor you.
To every caregiver dad (or bonus dad, grandpa, uncle, or partner)—thank you.

🌈 Final Thought: It’s Not Selfish. It’s Essential.
Self-care isn’t a luxury. It’s survival. It’s strategy. It’s strength.
When you take care of yourself, you show your child what that looks like.
Let’s model rest.
Let’s model asking for help.
Let’s model that we matter too.
Here for you always,
