Faith Academics Service
June 1st ~ Newsletter
As we approach the end of our school year so much respect and gratitude resonate in my heart for each of you. God goes before us always and He has carried us through a challenging yet blessed school year. The cool part is the light of God shines before, within, and throughout our lives.

This week we look forward to celebrating our 8th grade and their families for their commitment, sacrifice, and achievements. This Thursday’s morning mass and graduation ceremony reflects many years of faith, service, knowledge, and hard work! So much love and respect for you all, and a very sincere congratulations as your commencing into high school, college and life will continue to be very bright, and filled with much learning, joy, discovery, and tremendous hope.

Today, we celebrate the following faculty and staff members who will be retiring and transitioning from Christ the King Catholic School. We thank each member of our CTK family as reflected below for their tremendous commitment, educational gifts, and awesome imprint in our lives:

  • Richie Aliotti has dedicated three years of his life to Christ the King Catholic School as a middle school instructional assistant. Richie is an awesome role model to our families, faculty and staff. A natural borne educator and leader, esteemed coach, and affable spirited man -- Richie can truly be counted on! We are proud of Richie’s accomplishments as he recently attained his Master’s degree in education along with a California professional clear teaching credential. Sky is the limit for Richie, as his long-term goals center upon teaching physical education and coaching basketball in the public high school system -- with the long-term goal of becoming an athletic director. We wish Richie, his lovely fiancée Paris, and their beloved family the very best.
  • Mary Bruce has dedicated over three decades of her life to Christ the King Catholic School as instructional assistant and leader. To know Mary is to witness a beautiful heart, and a consistent loyalty to our faith and school. Mary can be counted on for her commitment to Catholic education, conscientious nature, and ability to assimilate and fill in at many positions within our school community. Mary has ministered with Mrs. Sihler for many years, and helps Coach Doc with our PE program as well. Mary’s crafting (classroom and schoolwide) bulletin boards is like no other! Her love for our students, and fabric in our community is beloved and palpable. Mary is retiring from CTK School. We wish Mary, her husband Tom, and family; including new/first grandchild Hagan Alexander Bruce the utmost best.
  • Teresa Halsey has dedicated two years to Christ the King Catholic School as our middle school religion and K-8 music teacher. Teresa’s passion for faith, and music has taken her to the highest levels; whereby Teresa is a talented and composed Opera singer/spiritual artist. Teresa’s love for God and strong and peaceful faith reflects a young lady with a wonderful family background and solid faith-filled interior. Teresa has guided Net Ministry Retreats to our school, enlivened our family life series, taken our Christmas program to new levels of elegance/legacy, and her cantering ability and love for the Catholic faith is truly irreplaceable. Teresa is moving to Chicago to pursue post graduate degrees in music.
  • Lynne Jowett has dedicated two years of her life to Christ the King Catholic School as a talented English language arts teacher. Lynne, her husband, and family plan to return to their home in England. Truly a delightful, wise, and grace-filled educator, Lynne is valued for her brilliant mind, caring heart, and empowerment of her students – toward inventiveness and being oneself. She has complimented our strong literacy program, and her warm spirit is a lighthouse to all those she encounters each day. We will miss her intrinsic kindness, sincerity, and beautiful heart!
  • Hollee Maffeo has dedicated over two decades of her life to Christ the King Catholic School as a respected and beloved teacher and leader. To know Hollee is see the light of Christ in action with an altruistic spirit leading the way. A woman of quiet faith, Hollee can be counted on for her strong work ethic, team-driven esprit de corps, talents and expertise as a beloved Catholic educator. Hollee’s intrinsically kind nature is the very pulse of our school’s mission and charism. Hollee has taught so wonderfully at the early grades within our school’s strong education, and presently is a respected and valuable reading specialist. She has led our school’s yearbook team with organization and creativity! Hollee and her husband Mike plan to retire to Cooperopolis, Calaveras County, California -- whereby a beautiful new home is being crafted with care and will come to completion in the next few weeks. We will miss Hollee’s gracious smile, gentle spirit, and bright mind!
  • Demitra Victor has dedicated one year to Christ the King Catholic School as a respected science (departmentalized) middle school teacher. Incredibly bright, inventive, and mature, Demitra is a respected colleague. Her strong Greek family roots, ability to adapt quickly, and genuine spirit will continue to light a path of tremendous learning and discovery for herself and her students. Demitra’s plans include teaching at the early elementary level in the public school system. We send blessings to Demitra, and her family, knowing God goes before us always.

Abundant Blessings,

Mr. Joseph M. Silveira
Principal
Christ the King Catholic School
Prayers
Dear Heavenly Father, please continue to bless our CTK families. This week we say good bye to our graduates. God, please continue to bless these students and their families as they prepare for the next phase in their lives. They will always be a part of our CTK community. We pray for all those affected by the recent VTA events. We hope that our community can find peace in these uncertain times.

We pray for Melissa Futagaki, mother of Ava (2nd), Hayden (1st), and Emery (Kinder in the Fall) who is battling illness. Audrey James Yandell, cousin to Parker Hamilton (kinder) and future CTK student, who is receiving chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. Please continue to guide them in their time of healing.

If you have special intentions please email Mrs. Meran here so we can include them in our next newsletter.
Saying Goodbye
With graduation coming this week we will be saying goodbye to several families. Some of these families have called CTK home for more then the past 9 years. Although they are graduating they will always be a part of our CTK community at heart. Time passes so quickly, it seems like just yesterday the class of 2021 was entering Kindergarten. They have come together over the years from Father Daughter dances to Festivals to Walk-a-Jog-a-Thons. They will never forget their time at CTK, they have experienced so much over the years, and even learned to become distance learning experts! Class of 2021 you have jumped the line from K to 8 and now it is time to spread your wings! We thank you for the years spent at CTK. We never want to say good-bye as you will always be a part of CTK! We would like to honor the Brown, Casa, Chisar, Dias, Giberti, Hernandez, Johansen, Johnson, Martin, Mills, Nosrati, Orr, Pilarski, Regan, Ruscio, Stofer, Tryon, & Wasser families. You will be missed!
Thank you!
It has been said before, but the truth is clear CTK is the place it is because of the families that come through these doors. The smiles and waves each day say so much. We have been tested to the limits this year, but here we are a community that truly cares for one another. We would like to thank the Hernandez family for the great lunch, it was delicious! We would also like to thank the Giberti, Wasser, Regan, Johnson, Mills, and Ruscio families for the incredible breakfast spread! Our families spoil us and appreciate it more then you know!
