Dear NACCC Friends,

It has been my joy and honor to serve as your Moderator for the last two years. After our meeting in Wichita, I will be leaving you in the capable hands of Rev. Art Ritter.

It is a very exciting time in the life of our National Association. So many new programs are emerging, all of them geared toward better service to you--our member churches. I pray that each and every church within the NACCC will feel the support that is coming their way from the NACCC leadership. 

As we continue to move forward in faith, freedom, and fellowship, let us remember that we are a diverse group of churches. And though our worship styles, theologies, and practices may be different, each of us is following where we feel God leading. Let us celebrate the many ways our God can speak to us and through us as we continue this precious pilgrim journey.

As the Annual Meeting and Conference in Wichita nears, the Board of Directors thanks everyone for your support during this past year. It is a wonderful privilege to serve the churches of our Association. This year I have chaired a capable and caring board whose members include the Rev. Tom Van Tassell, Kate O’Dell, Jeff Dillon, the Rev. Dr. Beth Bingham, the Rev. Dr. Cindy Bacon Hammer, and Claudia Kniefel.
 
As this year ends, I want to express our appreciation to Jodee Lord who ends her elected term on the BoD. Jodee has served as our liaison to the Building and Loan Fund subcommittee. She has been a part of the Racial Justice Task Team, Sexual Abuse Task Team, and the By-laws Task Team. This past year Jodee was the BoD’s representative and Chair of the Search Committee for a new Executive Director of the NACCC. Thank you, Jodee!

Performing Arts Program Receives Funding

The Newfield Community Church of Newfield, Maine was recently awarded the John Richard Memorial Endowment for Fine and Performing Arts Grant. This endowment was established by John’s family and provides grants of up to $500 to NACCC member churches of 200 members or less that are planning Fine or Performing Arts events in their church. Newfield Community Church is enriching the life of their community by hosting a monthly concert. Significantly, the performing artists have agreed to donate their talents. The funds will be used to pay for the increased heating and cooling expenses required in the sanctuary in order to keep the space a comfortable place for the events for both musicians and attendees.
