Summer Worship Booklet
June brings the start of feelings for Summer. During the summer, the Sunday worship service will be live-streamed and recorded. This means that if you are not in the church on Sunday, you can view the worship service at a time that is convenient for you. We invite you to take home the Sunday Summer Worship Booklet so that you may reference that while you view a Summer worship service via our YouTube channel.
As a reminder, the Lord of Life YouTube channel can be found at this link:
Worship booklets will be available in your church mailbox, but if you wish to receive a worship booklet in the U.S. Mail, please send an email to the church office:

Coffee Hour Fellowship
Every Sunday

Join us for Coffee Hour every Sunday following the 8:30 AM service or prior to the 10:00 AM service. Coffee Hour will continue during our summer schedule following our Sunday, 9:30 AM church service. Be with us in Fellowship Hall to socialize, catch up with church friends, enjoy some treats, and, of course, sip our "heavenly" coffee!
Sign Up Sheet For Summer Treats
No specific group will be assigned to host Coffee Hour during the months of July and August. We are hoping that congregation members would provide cookies, a cake, or some other goodies that can be served during Coffee Hour. If you want to sign up for a particular Sunday, a sign-up sheet to do so will be at each Coffee Hour.
From The Pastor's Desk:

"Bulletins and Blessings"
(A.K.A. Don't take a vacation from Church!)

It's June, and the beach or mountains may be calling. I hope that you also hear God's loving voice calling you to worship wherever you go. You can of course see and praise God in nature, or at a family meal, or as you take time for rest and play. But nothing replaces the kind of worship that gathers to hear the Word and raise our voices in a shared response. Wherever you are on a summer Sunday, look for a place to worship; you can find ELCA congregations by going to ELCA.org, top right of the front page, "Find A Congregation."
Here is also a direct link to do the search: https://www.elca.org/tools/FindACongregation

Lots of folks bring me bulletins to see what other Church families are up to. If you bring me a bulletin, please attach a note telling me what exactly you saw there that inspired you. It may be a part of the worship service, or an item in their announcements, or a way they made you feel welcome. As you experience God's presence and the Church's creativity or warmth in other places, Lord of Life is glad to hear of ideas and experiences that helped you, as a disciple of Jesus, to walk in His way and to witness to His love.

So - don't take a vacation from Church, but take Church on your vacation. And when you are in town, come and worship - and invite a friend to come and view our worship through the eyes of a newcomer! Reminder: the last Sunday in June we will move to only 2 weekly services - Saturday night at 5:00 PM and Sunday morning at 9:30 AM (followed by coffee hour). Come and be blessed!

In Christ's peace,
Pastor Wendolyn

Summer Giving: We don't want our ministry to "slump." Please consider automated giving, through our Tithe.ly QR code (shown at right) or by signing up for Simply Giving. You can sign up for Simply Giving by clicking on the link below, printing out the form, and returning it to the church office.
Pastor's Request - Prayers & Picnics! Pastor Wendolyn requests your prayers this summer - that she may be blessed and guided by God the Holy Spirit, to know where to put her energies and how best to reach out to the people of our Church.  In addition to prayer, the best way to support our Pastor is to invite her into your life.  Consider inviting her for Sunday lunch, a cup of tea on your porch, a video call from your vacation spot, a walk in your neighborhood, or any other way for her to hear your stories, see your home, and get to know you even better. This will help her in preaching, caring for you, and connecting with our community. The Church is not a building - it's the people, so please help Pastor get to know the people of Lord of Life!

Book Club Summer Preview!
We have chosen books for July and August and thought you might want to get a head start on reading them.

For July, our discussion will center around, A Full Life: Reflections At Ninety by Jimmy Carter. This is a memoir by the 39th President of the United States, released in 2015 on his 90th birthday. The book is
a collection of reflections and memories, including his upbringing, political career, and humanitarian efforts.

In August, our book will be The Kitchen Front by Jennifer Ryan. From the bestselling author of The Chilbury Ladies' Choir comes an unforgettable novel of a BBC-sponsored wartime cooking competition and the four women who enter for a chance to better their lives.

The Burlington County Library has copies of both books.

Old But New:
A Message From Church Council Member
Cynthia Tait

What is something old but new at Lord of Life? The answer is the Discipleship, Evangelism, and Communications Committee (DECC). While you might wonder how these historically separate committees at Lord of Life can combine into one super-charged committee, it is possible to see the natural bond. Discipleship is the state of being a disciple, which relates to following Jesus. The message that Jesus is Lord is the foundational element of evangelism. Communications unites these two concepts as the system for exchanging or transmitting information. The Discipleship, Evangelism, and Communications Committee members come from the various leads responsible for how Lord of Life broadly communicates that we are disciples of Jesus sharing His message. DECC consists of Bill Reich (Facebook), Jim Cuviello (LifeLines), Lu Hourihan (Ads), Justine Jacobs with Brianne Tomlinson and Lexi Morris (Website), Tammy Miller (Church Frontage Sign), Justine Jacobs (Instagram), and Pastor Wendolyn. Cynthia Tait serves as the Church Council liaison for the committee. If you are interested in learning more about the vital work of this committee or would like to participate, please reach out to Cynthia Tait by email or phone at:

Helping Hands Ministry
Wednesday, June 28th,
At 9:30 AM
(For The Christian Caring Center)
Helping Hands is a monthly ministry to make sandwiches for the homeless served by Christian Caring Center. It meets the last Wednesday of each month. We form an assembly line and make about 200 sandwiches in an hour. Jobs are easy – putting meat and cheese on a roll, placing sandwiches in a baggie, counting the sandwiches, and putting them in a grocery bag. Everyone gets a small, easy task and a lot gets done quickly while we share some time together. We keep everyone safe by wearing gloves and masks, spacing ourselves, and venting the room. All are invited to join us! If you have any questions, please contact Janell Reich.

MORE Athletic Shoe Collection

MORE stands for Modular Organic Regenerative Environments. The group is 100% funded by recycling athletic shoes, keeping them out of landfills. Donated shoes are sold to participating vendors in developing countries. Proceeds regenerate forests and jump start small farming co-ops in needy regions. This creates retail jobs while stimulating free enterprise. MORE provides basic supplies, tools, seeds (fruit-bearing mango, papaya, avocado and income producing mahogany), and agroforestry training to poor farming families, school children and rural villages.
While our Book Exchange is taking place, our collection box has been moved to the Grace Place entryway area, shown in the photo below. Please only give sneaker-type used footwear, no dress or other types of shoes.

Financially, through the end of April, Lord of Life is moving along according to plan. We encourage everyone to continue to support the church during the summer months. If you are not in church, you may mail offerings to the church office. You may also contribute electronically using the Simply Giving Program or the Tithe.ly program. You may use either at any time - it is easy!
Accessing Tithe.ly is also available by scanning the QR code found in the church worship booklets or shown in the LifeLines.
For the latest detailed information on the church finances, look in the church bulletin available at each church service.

From The Editor:
LifeLines Ending Song:
This is a very fitting hymn for Holy Trinity Sunday. The lyrics were written by Elizabeth Rundle Charles (1828-1896). She was a member of the Anglican Church and was a gifted poet, musician, painter, and author. She translated many hymns from their original language to English. The tune is “Flemming,” composed by Friedrich Flemming (1778-1813). He was a physician schooled in Wittenberg and then practiced medicine in Berlin. The hymn was in our former “green hymnal,” the Lutheran Book of Worship, but was not include in the current ELW “cranberry hymnal.” It was hymn #517, Praise To The Father in the green book. It remains a popular hymn in England and Canada, and goes by that title and two others: Praise Ye The Father and, its original title, Praise Ye The Triune God.
