As we reported last week, a new edition of the LP-Gas Safety Rule Book is now available due to recent changes affecting certification fees. The May 2026 edition is now in stock and available for purchase from the Propane Service Corporation (PSC).

NPGA By the Numbers: 
2025–26 Year in Review

The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) spent the past year protecting propane markets, defending energy choice, reducing regulatory burdens, and creating new growth opportunities for the industry.


Check out several of their accomplishments below:

·        Secured $4 billion+ in LIHEAP funding to help propane customers afford winter heating.

·        Secured repeal of the federal Consumer Water Heater Rule, protecting consumer choice and propane water heater markets.

·        Helped preserve the ENERGY STAR Program, protecting an important market recognition program for propane appliances.

·        Obtained historic Hours-of-Service waivers during severe winter supply disruptions, helping keep propane flowing to customers.

·        Advocated for continued exemption of propane retail facilities under OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) Program.

·        Kept members informed and represented industry interests as the propane industry navigated changing federal tariff policies.

·        Participated in nearly a dozen lawsuits defending propane against gas bans, regulatory overreach, and anti-energy policies.

·        Won 100% of NPGA positions submitted on NFPA 58 public inputs and secured dozens of favorable code and standards changes benefiting propane operations.

·        Advocated for changes to the Clean School Bus Program to create greater opportunities for propane-powered school buses.

·        Helped secure more than $24 million in federal grants for propane transit bus projects.

·        Worked with state associations to host a record 300+ congressional meetings during Propane Days to advocate for propane priorities on Capitol Hill.

·        Launched NPGAid, a new disaster-relief fund for propane employees and their families facing hardship.

·        Awarded a record 117 scholarships totaling $174,000 to students from propane industry families.
