NSENG just passed the 5,000-member mark!

June 10 & 11 NSENG meeting features a keynote speaker on " How to Overcome Being Viewed as Over-Qualified " + a round of networking
June 10... 6:15-8:30pm at the Glenview Public Library (1930 Glenview Rd)
June 11... 6:15-8:30pm at the old McDonald's Hamburger Univ (2715 Jorie Blvd in Oak Brook)... last meeting in Oak Brook
One of the greatest challenges that job seekers over 45 face is the perception that they are over-qualified (or too old) for many of the positions they pursue. Managers, directors, VPs and C-level individuals are often competing against less experienced candidates that are 10-15 years younger. And from the employer's perspective, there is often concern that an "over-qualified" candidate has less energy, is too expensive, isn't current from a technology standpoint and will leave once they find a job that pays better.

During this meeting,  ABBY KOHUT ("Absolutely Abby")  will present powerful strategies on "How to Overcome the Challenges of Being Over-Qualified" . It's impossible to BE overqualified unless YOU believe you ARE overqualified. During her presentation, Abby will help you learn the following:
  • How to answer the over-qualified question
  • The REAL reason why recruiters and hiring managers are concerned about hiring over-qualified applicants
  • How to change your cover letter and resume if you believe you are over-qualified
  • 7 ways to explain on an interview why being over-qualified is an advantage
  • How to handle the "age factor"

Here is some background on Abby Kohut :
