Hello Prairie Central!

I look forward to seeing some of you at Annual Conference in a few days! As summer ministries kick off in your churches, I pray that the Spirit will be poured out as you bear witness during Pride Month, as you offer joy during VBS weeks, as you serve on youth mission trips, as you grow hope in your community gardens, as you live into Beloved Community. I'd love it if you'd drop me a note and/or share a picture of a way your congregation is practicing hope during the Summer of 2026!

For hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts...

(Romans 5:5)

In the hope we share in Christ,

DS Rev. Wendy Hardin Hermann

Faithfully Celebrating Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder that God calls the church to pursue justice, liberation, and dignity for all people. As we remember the delayed freedom of enslaved Black Americans, we are invited to recommit ourselves to confronting racism, standing with the oppressed, and living out God’s call to “let justice roll down like waters”. The General Commission on Religion and Race provides worship resources and videos as well as suggestions on how white people can observe Juneteenth. Read more.
