June 14,2021
Cascade Restriping with Double Yellow Center Line

We are restoring the yellow double center line on Cascade and removing the white fog lines in those areas and adding advisory 15 mph signs, bike sharrow markings on the roadway and other signage.
 
The contractor has informed us that they will be able to restripe Cascade Tuesday, June 15th, with work beginning at 8:00am.
 
Please expect minor traffic delays.
Tree Crews Will Be Working Along PG&E Power Lines Continuing Week of June 14th

Wilhelm tree crews are continuing to work along PG&E power lines throughout Fairfax starting today, June 14th.

They will be working on the following streets:
Pine Drive, Azalea Road, Barker Ave, Bolinas Road, Bridge Court, Cascade Drive, Dominga Ave, Forrest Ave, Frustuck Ave, Hickory Road, Hill Ave, Juniper Court, Manor Road, Manzanita Road, Mountain View Road, Park Lane, Porteous Ave, Ridge Road, Rocca Drive, Scenic Road, Sequoia Road, Spruce Road, Tamalpais Road, Taylor Drive, Valley Road.
County Commission on Aging Seeks New Fairfax Representative

Interested in supporting the well-being of older adults in your community and throughout Marin County? Care about issues related to health, nutrition, housing, transportation, equity and public policy? The 23-member commission promotes the dignity, independence and quality of life of older persons through advocacy, information, programs and services. It serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors and works closely with the County's Office of Aging and Adult Services on behalf of Marin’s older adults, persons with disabilities and family caregivers. If you’re a resident of Fairfax and at least 18 years old, please consider applying.

Experience the Resilient Neighborhoods free online 5-session Climate Action Workshop Series with others in Marin who care about a healthy planet. Have fun calculating your carbon footprint and taking steps to reduce it. Make your household resilient to droughts, wildfires, and power outages. You will achieve measurable results in five meetings, guaranteed! The next workshop starts June 17.

Each home in Fairfax will be serviced twice between May 17-September 27th

Fairfax Recreation
Mini Skate Camp
Grades K-6 
Week of June 28th
10am-12pm


Fairfax Recreation is offering a Mini Skate Camp this summer at the new Fairfax Skate Park! Campers will be instructed in the basic fundamentals of skateboarding. The primary focus will be to get kids comfortable riding and performing flat ground maneuvers, and small skate park obstacles. 

Art & Nature Camp
For children 4 -5 years 
Week of July 12th
Monday – Friday from 9am – 12noon 

This camp is designed for transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten child/ren to get them comfortable for the new school year ahead. Children will learn how to work within a group of peers, enhance listening skills with music exercises and do hands on crafts and nature exploration.

Join Fairfax Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Fairfax Open Space Committee (FOSC) for our first BioBlitz to celebrate our earth.
