Pastors Dallas and Marisa are preaching from the Book of Acts this summer in a series called "The World Rightside Up - What is the Church?" Explore with us the launch of the church after the Holy Spirit came to the apostles and how the first communities grew and flourished. What can we learn from their time of emerging now that we are also in such a time?

Scripture Reading: The Conversion of Saul

Acts 9: 1-19

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’ He asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The reply came, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.’ The men who were traveling with him stood speechless because they heard the voice but saw no one. Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. For three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

We are OPENING! Re-Entry Team Update

heart open doors.png

Dear First Church of Christ Longmeadow Congregants:

The Church Reentry Team recently met and completed a sanctuary walk through, in preparation for resuming in-person worship. Based on current state and local COVID opening regulations/restrictions and First Church’s capacity to safely meet them, we are extremely excited to offer our first in-person indoor worship service on

June 20th, 2021

Church Reopening Guidelines have been developed to streamline safety considerations and establish participant expectations. While children are welcome to attend in-person worship, those under the age of 12 will not have been vaccinated against COVID. The Reentry Team wanted attendees to be aware of this, so that you can make an informed safety decision about attending in-person worship. We anticipate that there will be periodic guideline updates, as CDC pandemic safety recommendations evolve. These will be provided to congregants in our weekly email and posted on the FCC website.

Each indoor worship service will continue to be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube to allow congregants to worship remotely: if they are not feeling well, do not feel safe worshiping together, or cannot comply with our guideline mandates.

Due to limited seating capacity during Phase 1 of our reopening (75 spaces), pre-registration will be required for congregants who would like to worship in-person.

Registration can be completed in one of two ways:

1) For those with internet access (preferred method), log into the Sign Up Genius website using the link provided in our weekly eblasts before the scheduled worship service. Links will change from week to week. If demand for in-person worship exceeds seating capacity, congregants unable to reserve a seat should email [email protected] to be waitlisted and/or have first seating preference for the following week’s Sunday worship service.

2) For those without internet access, call Jill at (413) 567-6287 anytime between 9AM–4PM Tuesday through Thursday before the scheduled worship service. Registration will be completed on a first come/first serve basis.

Please peruse the attached Phase 1 Church Reopening Guidelines for safety details regarding our in-person worship service. We thank you for your patience and look forward to seeing you in person soon!

Kind regards,

The First Church of Christ Longmeadow Re-entry Team
