Message from President Sara Beacham

Greetings!
Hello! It’s hard to believe that this is my last e-blast to all of you. I have feelings of joy for the extra time I will have and sadness that my presidency is over. I have thoroughly enjoyed this past year. Thank you for all the dance parties, support, and hard work. You helped make my job easier and more enjoyable. You helped make my dream of a President’s Project: Advocate for Great live event come to life.
I don’t have much else to say except some business items. This is our last board meeting and last business meeting this week. Then, we go dark for July and August. We are working on an informal lunch and coffee schedule, expected to be out at the beginning of July. However, if anyone is up for coffee or lunch with me, I would love to meet up over the summer. I will be working on my fitness continuing education, my thesis, and brushing up my speaker profile to start my speaking career.
The speech I gave at installation two weeks ago seemed to go over well, and some have asked for a copy of it. So, I am providing a copy of it with this eblast. The book I recommended is called Legacy by James Kerr. Here is a link (ciick here) to the book on Amazon.
Thank you, everyone, for this year. I am honored and proud to have served as your President.
See you Wednesday,
President Sara

Please note that this is a 1st draft and will not be finalized until we see what members are renewing and that we may be moving members as we fill the vacant chair positions.
I will be bringing printed copies to all members at our business meeting tomorrow.

June Fur Baby and Member of the Month - Xena & Joan Stoner
My name is Xena, warrior princess, and I am a border collie. I was born on a ranch in Klamath Falls and my mom, Joan, found me at a rodeo when I was 8 weeks old. I’ve been spoiled from the start, but I am very well-behaved when needed. I used to do agility and was good at it, but I had knee surgery 2 years ago, so my jumping days are over. Unlike most border collies, I don’t fetch frisbees and am not that interested in toys but will do anything for treats. My favorite thing is to go on walks with my mom and her friends in the park. I especially like it when people we meet in the park have treats in their pockets. I can always find them, and my cute face is hard to resist, so I get more than a few treats on my walks. I will be 11 years old in June.
My Mom, Joan, joined Soroptimist in 1997. Susan Evers-McCauley was her sponsor, and her sister Jane Alt was president a few years before. She tells me that she really enjoys the friendships she has made in Soroptimist and I do too because Mom takes me to many events. She has been a president and treasurer of our club. When not taking me for walks, she loves to read, play the piano and garden. She has a son and daughter and three grandchildren who she is looking forward to spending more time with whenever she is fully retired. You may even know her daughter. Her name is Sara.
