ISBE Shares FAQs on COVID-19 Vaccinations for Young People

The Illinois State Board of Education has added the resource "COVID-19 Vaccination for Young People FAQs" to its COVID-19 Updates and Resources page. The FAQs address safety concerns, vaccine impacts, and vaccine administration.

Last Chance to Register! Railroad Safety for First Responders, Educators, and School Bus Drivers class on June 17th via Zoom

This is the last chance to register for the "Railroad Safety for First Responders, Educators, and School Bus Drivers"class on June 17th from 9am-11am via Zoom. This class will cover the challenges that frontline responders and school staff are faced with when responding to an incident on or near railroad property. This 2-hour class will prepare all involved (bus drivers, school administrators, law enforcement, first responders, etc.) and provide responding individuals the correct tools to safely navigate the unfamiliar environment of the railroad. Attendees will gain access to the safest ways to respond to railroad incidents. For more information, click here.
Free Encore Event: Averting Targeted School Violence Class

The U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) will host a free virtual encore event on June 29, 2021, on "Averting Targeted School Violence: A U.S. Secret Service Analysis of Plots Against Schools" from 11:00p-2:30p CT. This event is a replay of the the March 30th live event and features the findings from NTAC’s research, an in-depth case study, guest speakers from the National Police Foundation and National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), and a personal account of an averted attack by a mental health professional.
