Texas Delegation Advocates for Propane on Capitol Hill

More than 200 propane industry leaders from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., last week for Propane Days, hosted by the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA). Led by the Texas Propane Gas Association (TPGA), the Texas delegation participated in 9 meetings with congressional offices as part of the more than 275 meetings held nationwide.

Key issues discussed included:

• Advancing the Energy Choice Act (H.R. 3699 / S. 1945) to protect consumers' ability to choose propane and other energy sources.

• Securing FY 2027 funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and restoring staffing to support program administration.

• Supporting H.R. 2424 to repeal the 12% federal excise tax on heavy-duty trucks.

TPGA thanks the Texas propane leaders who took time away from their businesses to ensure the industry's voice was heard on issues impacting propane consumers, marketers, and suppliers across Texas.
