ORCAS ISLAND COMMUNITY PARADE
Theme: Honoring Island Families

Take part in the Community Parade (Saturday, July 2). The application to be in the parade is found HERE. Fill out the form and return to the Chamber office. The deadline to fill out the form is Friday, June 24.

Our Grand Marshals are The Linnes Family (known best as our family of grocers from Island Market). See you on July 2nd!
THE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES A NEW MEMBER!

MONTi
Ciao Orcas! MONTi is a new Italian Ristorante & Market at Prune & Rose serving classic rustic Italian dishes, and a deep Italian wine list, five nights a week (Friday - Tuesday, 5 pm - 10 pm). As proud as we are of the food and drinks, the hospitality is our main focus.

PRUNE ALLEY CONSTRUCTION
**Please consider using North Beach Rd and Madrona St to access Prune Alley businesses as road conditions may not be suitable for all vehicles.
**Prune Alley closed from Main St to Enchanted Forest Rd through Friday.
**Please continue to adhere to all posted traffic control devices and instructions from traffic control personnel.

**To ease parking on Main Street and North Beach Rd, San Juan County asks shoppers and employees to limit their street parking to 4 hours max.
**Employees encouraged to park in the expanded parking area, south of the athletic building on A Street.
**NEW: Temporary N. Beach Rd. closure on Saturday 6/18 for parade, info here.
**NEW: For event weekends, the Orcas Center, OISD lot, and south of the athletic building on A St are open for parking by attendees. Please leave all private lots open for regular business customers.
ACCESS TO PRUNE ALLEY BUSINESSES
With the ongoing Prune Alley road work the Chamber will update business information here for those affected businesses.

--Orcas Bikes. Access now from 414 North Beach Rd (across from ACE Hardware). Open daily 9 am – 6 pm. Phone: 360-820-8282.

--Monti (former location of Roses). Store sales 9 am – 4 pm, Thursday – Sunday. We are offering options for breakfast and lunch for the patio or to-go but not table service. Parking access is best on Rose Street near Library. Dinner service begins soon.

--The Barnacle is open its regular hours. You can access us from the footpath next to Tres Fabu on North Beach Road. There is signage when we are open to help direct people. Our hours and events are published on our website www.thebarnacle.com.

--The Kitchen is open its regular hours Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri 12-4. You can access us from the footpath next to Tres Fabu on North Beach Road. There is signage when we are open.

--Eastsound Liquor & Wine is open Saturday - Monday, 12 - 6 pm & Tuesday - Friday, 11 - 6:30 pm. Customers are advised to come after 3 pm on days where construction is ACTIVE because the pedestrian route and driving route is more difficult/inconsistent.

PRINTABLE ONE-PAGE SUMMER FERRY SCHEDULE
Washington State Ferries may yet publish a summer ferry schedule but seeing as how the summer dates are fast approaching, the Chamber of Commerce created a one-page schedule for Anacortes/Orcas Island and Orcas/San Juan Island and Orcas/Lopez Island inter-island times. At Forest Ceramic Gallery we have thoughtful, locally handmade gifts for Father's Day (June 19!). ISLAND HOPPIN' BREWERY
Our tasting room is extending hours. Thursday - Saturday open 11 - 9 pm. Sunday - Wednesday open 12 - 7 pm. We offer cold plates of local cheeses and smoked salmon. ORCAS ISLAND SUMMER SOLSTICE PARADE
Radiate Sparkles is our theme to welcome in the summer. Saturday, June 18 at noon, the parade will commence in town with music to follow on The Village Green. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE CLEAN-UP
Saturday, June 18, 10 - 2 pm at ORS/The Exchange
This is the ONLY event of the year when you can bring in liquid fuels (gasoline, kerosene, etc.) for drop-off. Be advised you may not get your container back.
  • Businesses must obtain a form and register in advance.
  • Do not bring paint or stains - you can bring those in anytime for free.

WEEKLY WORKSHOPS AT MORAN STATE PARK

The Orcas Island Garden Club invites you to our 2022 Garden Tour on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. Six lovely gardens will be open from 11 am to 5 pm on both days. LAND BANK MONTHLY MEETING
The San Juan County Conservation Land Bank Commission will hold its monthly meeting on June 17 from 8:30 am – 11 am via Microsoft Teams. The meeting will also be available for in person public attendance at 849 Argyle Avenue. The public is invited to attend. Click here for link and info. 
READ BEYOND THE BEATEN PATH, LIBRARY
Children of all ages are invited to join Orcas Island Public Library this summer for the 2022 Summer Reading Program; Read Beyond the Beaten Path. This summer’s theme explores all things related to wilderness and runs from June 19 to August 13. Registration begins on June 16. COMMUNITY SURVEY - COALITION FOR ORCAS YOUTH
The Coalition for Orcas Youth is conducting a community survey to gauge community perceptions of youth substance use. Your opinions are valuable and the results will help shape policy and programs. The survey should take about 7 minutes. Upon completion of this VALUABLE survey, those who give permission will be entered to win a $300 gift certificate to Island Market.
