The Army Women’s Foundation and Trident University recognize the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. As part of the Army Women’s Foundation Scholarship Program, the Trident University Scholarship Program provides full-ride scholarships to Women Soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Trident University Scholarship Program annually provides full ride scholarships for one (1) student pursuing a bachelor’s degree and one (1) student pursuing a graduate degree. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from Trident University.
The Equine Science Center at Rutgers University has announced its fundraising initiative kickoff for a research project that will focus on Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which will coincide with June’s Month of the Horse in New Jersey.
“I've gone through a lot of darkness and I see me emerging just like these radishes,” said Air Force veteran Isna T. Summerlin.

The Army Women’s Foundation honors the service and sacrifices of U.S. Army women through our Hall of Fame Induction and Special Recognition Awards program. Women who have served in the Army or the Armed Forces, and contributed extraordinary service are eligible for induction into the US Army Women’s Hall of Fame. Our Special Recognition Awards are presented to any individual who has made exceptional contributions to women in the Army or the Armed Forces. Most inductees are women who have served in the US Army, but the list of honorees also includes Brigadier General Wilma Vaught, USAF, Retired.
Our Hall of Fame Awards were first presented in 2009, and have been presented each year since then.
