Jane Wenner Named Emergency Management Coordinator

Gloucester resident Jane Wenner was appointed Gloucester’s new Emergency Management Coordinator recently by the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors. She has been serving as Acting Coordinator since last summer and has been with the department since 2005.

“Jane has been working in the department for years and knows every detail that goes into the work the job requires,” said Ashley Chriscoe, who serves on the Board of Supervisors and as Gloucester’s Emergency Management Director. “She will be an exceptional coordinator and Gloucester will be ready in the event of anything that happens in our County!”

Seeking GHS students with interest in the skilled trades!

In partnership with local businesses, Gloucester High School is offering a PAID job shadowing experience to students 16+. This Summer Skilled Trades Career Cohort opportunity will take place July 5-8, 2022. Limited internship opportunities will also be available with sponsor businesses upon completion of this program.

History Camps for 4th and 5th Graders Being Offered in July

Looking for something fun and educational for your 4th and 5th grader to do this summer?

Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism is holding Civil War Camp July 11-14 and Explore Gloucester History Camp July 18-21. Camps will include trips to museums and historic sites including Mariner’s Museum, Fort Monroe, Rosewell, Ware Church, the American Civil War Museum, the Virginia State Capitol, and Hollywood Cemetery.
