ISBE Shares Resolution for In-Person Learning

The Illinois State Board of Education shared a Resolution Supporting In-Person Learning for SY 2021-22, as well as a Q & A document to help address questions school districts may have. According to the resolution, it "does not itself have any effect on policy," and that "Policy will change when the Superintendent makes the declaration requiring in-person learning after conclusion of current school year, subject to favorable public health conditions at that time." The resolution addresses remote learning, blended learning, home/hospital services, public health questions, and COVID-19 testing.
Last Chance to Register! Advanced Digital Threat Assessment class on June 8th via Zoom

This is the last chance to register for the "Advanced Digital Threat Assessment" training through Safer Schools Together on June 8, 2021, via Zoom. Building upon the Digital Threat Assessment class, this class will leave participants with a concrete understanding of how to find and curate relevant digital information as is typically represented in a real-life digital threat assessment data gathering scenario. Major engagement and hands-on practice will take place. For more information and to register, click here.
Upcoming Railroad Safety for First Responders, Educators, and School Bus Drivers class on June 17th via Zoom

The Illinois School and Campus Safety Program is pleased to announce the class "Railroad Safety for First Responders, Educators, and School Bus Drivers" will be held via Zoom on June 17th from 9am-11am. This class will cover the challenges that frontline responders and school staff are faced with when responding to an incident on or near railroad property. This 2-hour class will prepare all involved (bus drivers, school administrators, law enforcement, first responders, etc.) and provide responding individuals the correct tools to safely navigate the unfamiliar environment of the railroad.
