June 2015  |  Vol. 67, No. 3
Thank you for attending the April Dinner Meeting, and I encourage more of you to join your fellow TLARGIANs at the next meeting! I cannot underscore enough the importance and appreciation of your participation in TLARGI.

With that, thanks go to the Technical Committee Chairman, Jim Harmon, for providing our TIPS speaker, Ed Norton, an Applications Specialist with Alpha Technologies. Ed presented "Advances in MDR Technology." Thank you to The Podunk Poets who delivered their own kind of country rock/blue grass entertainment for our country/blues music fans. Thank you to our Yearbook Editor Beth Sepulveda and her committee for coordinating the ever-popular 2014/2015 TLARGI Yearbook & Directory which were made available throughout the dinner evening. And, as always, the Prize Committee and Chairman Danielle Hyslop closed the evening and delighted prize winners with another host of imaginative prizes.

Hard to believe, but the Summer Conference in Las Vegas will be upon us in just a matter of days! We encourage you to attend as Christian Groche and Committee have put together a memorable event, A Gatsby Affair, complete with gambling 24/7, golf, fun n' games, cocktails, PLUS dining and dancing in your Gatsby attire! And you don't want to forget about the CASH prizes that will be awarded at the Sunday Brunch, concluding with the GRAND PRIZE! (Please note: The conference registration and payment deadline is THIS Friday, May 22.)

See you there!

Larry Clarke
2015 TLARGI Chairman

In Memoriam
Johnny Arensmeyer, former 1966 TLARGI Chairman, passed away on March 10 at the age of 95. In the rubber industry, Johnny was known for inventing a unique moving die system used for extruding tire tread that's still used today by the tire industry for rapid prototyping of new tread designs. Johnny was also the founder of Veraco Die Company (which later merged into R.D. Abbott Company in 1966), and former President of R.D. Abbott Company (after Carl Hogland retired) from 1979 to 1992.

Victor Jimenez passed away on April 9. Victor faithfully served as the Lab Manager at Valley Processing for more than 31 years.

Joan Ing passed away on April 24. Joan served over 45 years in the rubber industry. Before joining R.D. Abbott Company in 1994, and serving as Office Manager and Accounts Payroll Manager, Joan worked her way up from Billing Clerk to Office Manager at Scuba Pro and Hydro Rubber and Plastics (both divisions of Under Sea Industries) from 1974 to 1993. Last May, Joan celebrated twenty years of service at RDA.

Johnny, Victor, and Joan each had many friends in the industry and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends.
