are
busy in the studios crafting one-of-a-kind pieces.

Please join the School of Art, Craft & Design in celebrating the fine work created by its students and recent alumni in an exhibition on display all summer at the Nashville International Airport.
The work is located in the “waiting” area near terminal C (in front of Starbucks). While the work will be on display through late August, the opening reception is Monday, June 19, from 4-6 p.m.

"Weaving a Real Peace" Conference
|
Craft Center students, alumni, faculty and former Artists-in-Residence, attended the “Weaving a Real Peace” conference in Oaxaca, MX. Art History Professor Dr. Carol Ventura also attended, but is not present in the photo.

Mariah Parris (BFA 2016), who won a merit award in the emerging makers tent of the May Tennessee Craft fair in Centennial Park; she’s a member and current president of the Plateau Chapter of TN Craft.

There is space available in a few workshops: Martha Grover's "Elegantly Altered" (clay), Barbara Pickett's "Natural Dye: Full Spectrum Color Wheels in Silk & Wool" (fibers), and Graeme Priddle & Melissa Engler's "Surface! Surface! (wood).
Martha Grover's workshop is available for you to register as an individual and the workshop fee is $440 or register as an adult and youth team (one individual 18 years of age or older and the other 12-17 years old) and the workshop fee is $800.
Openings remain in a few other workshops this summer, but they are filling fast.

Artist of the Month
June's Artist of the Month is local pulp-painter Chery Cratty.
Pulp paint is an almost unknown water based medium that Chery uses to create realistic images in an impressionistic style. Visit the
Appalachian Center for Craft
's retail gallery to see Chery's work in person.
