Strains of Sunrise, Sunset  are playing on a continuous loop in my mind this month. Last Saturday we welcomed a new son-in-law into our family as our younger daughter got married and in only a few more weeks our family will expand by two as our older daughter and her husband become first-time parents of twins. I want to capture and suspend each of these exciting moments in time! But can we really freeze moments in time? Of course not, but maybe we can notice more of them while they are unfolding instead of only in the rearview mirror of life. As I ponder what unsolicited advice to offer my daughters as they embark on their new life adventures, I come back to the essence of mindfulness...my wish for them distilled to three simple words...mind the moments.

Meditation Maintenance

2017 Schedule

Meditation Maintenance Sessions
are a great way to give yourself a monthly self-care "tune-up" by joining with fellow meditators to discuss insights and challenges of your practice.

Our general schedule is the 2nd Wednesday (evening) and 2nd Friday (afternoon) of each month.

You are welcome to attend each month or simply on an occasional basis. You will find a supportive and welcoming respite in the midst of your busyness.

Walk a Lavender Labyrinth

If you are in Massachusetts on June 24-25 you may want to check out the 14th annual Lavender Festival at Johnson Hill Farm in Buckland.   Get ready for a treat for your senses by walking the seasonal labyrinth made of carefully cultivated lavender plants. A bucolic way to "mind the moment" this month. 
Mindfulness and Creativity
greyscale-thinking-girl.jpg I am intrigued by new research at the University of Wisconsin that examined introduction of mindfulness training to graduate level engineering students. 

With just an 8 week mindfulness training, students reported increased creativity and well-being; along with a greater sense of satisfaction with their research projects. As we train our future leaders, scientists, researchers and scholars it is becoming apparent that mindfulness may play an important role.

Fall MBSR Registration Begins on June 15

The Fall Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) will open for registration on June 15. Group classes will be offered both Monday evenings and Friday mornings in historic Concord, Massachusetts. Class size is limited to 15 participants.
