2 Timothy 4:2

"Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching."
A Word for the Summer

For anyone running on the typical school calendar whether kid, parent or because of your career, summer has a different tone. Most seasons do, but summer is a little different. School is out and the weather is welcoming for the outdoors. Schedules change. Vacations are gone on. Pools are open. Kids get bored and need something to do. Sports leagues and camps are running. Some programs take breaks, others start. Different people are seen on a regular basis.

It goes by fast. In the midst of everything that changes and takes place in the summer, do those changes change who we are and how we live as well? Or are we the same person throughout the year regardless of who we hang out with and where we spend our time? Is God forgotten?

If there is any change, let's pray that change is growth. Growth in Christ and growth in godly living.

Let's Pray   ManlyMinute
Lord, we need you every single moment of every single day.

Lord Jesus, we come before you now. Thank you for the summer. Whether we are still working every day or getting a break from the normal regime, we commit this time of year to you. May our times of rest and relaxation be glorifying to you. May times with family and friends be meaningful and uplifting. May times of sports practice and competition be filled with godliness and strong character.

We pray for those who know you to continue looking to you. We pray for those who don't know you to get even just a glimpse of you this summer.  Reveal yourself to all of us. Guide us in your ways. Grow us in your Word.  Use us as the light of your Truth. Father, w e look to you in all things. Only You can be who we need and bring to fruition what we need.

We praise Your Name alone, Amen.
