At the 30th Anniversary Golden Thread Gala, we honored the life of our extraordinary co-founder, Arnold P. Gold, MD (1925-2018) through a new 10-minute film , "The Legacy of Arnold P. Gold." This video was made possible through the generous support of Executive Producers Dorian Goldman & Marvin Israelow, Katja Goldman & Michael Sonnenfeldt, and Victoria & Lloyd Goldman, and Producers Dr. Steven Corwin, Michael Dowling, Dr. Lee Goldman, and Dr. Larry Smith.
G olden Thread Gala in New York City kicks off the celebration of our 30th year
The 30th Anniversary Golden Thread Gala gathered 430 of our supporters at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City on June 13 to celebrate 30 years of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation. The evening honored three remarkable individuals for their impact on humanism in medicine. Read about t he magical evening and view our photo gallery. Mapping the Landscape Symposium sparks engagement with researchers
The Gold Foundation Research Institute hosted its annual Mapping the Landscape, Journeying Together Symposium May 20-22. The three-day event in Chicago brought together this community of practice and gave them a platform to present their work on humanism in healthcare, network with like-minded individuals, and hone their skills to advocate for change. Last call to apply for Nursing White Coat Ceremony funding
In collaboration with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the Gold Foundation is pleased to announce that new funding is available for nursing schools to host an inaugural White Coat Ceremony for the fall of 2018. Since 2014, the AACN and Gold Foundation have supported the start of ceremonies at 260 schools. Funding is made possible through the generous support of Gold Foundation Board Member Elaine Adler. Apply now to be a 2019 Gold Humanism Scholar at the Harvard Macy Institute
T he Arnold P. Gold Foundation is pleased to announce that it will again be sponsoring partial scholarships for Gold Humanism Scholars at the Harvard Macy Institute 2019 Program for Educators.The Gold Humanism Scholars Program allows health-profession education to complete projects that cultivate compassionate, collaborative and scientifically excellent care. Representatives from the Gold Foundation attended the Cleveland Clinic’s annual Patient Experience Summ it o n Empathy and Innovation June 18-20 alongside other healthcare leaders. Gold Foundation President and CEO, Dr. Rich Levin presented “Finding Joy and Meaning in the Disrupted Work of Healthcare" during a breakout session. Gold Foundation staff members can be found at several other events this year, including   Planetree’s 40th Anniversary International Conference On Person-Centered Care , and the  American Association of American Medical Conference’s Annual Learn Serve Lead Meeting.
Gold Humanism Honor Society honors three 2018 Chapter Award Winners
Congratulations to the 2018 winners of the GHHS Distinguished Chapter Awards: Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, University of Missouri–Kansas City, and Georgetown University School of Medicine, as well as the five 2018 Outstanding Chapters. The chapters are being recognized for their impact, learning environment/research, service activities and leadership. Read more here .
