Construction Projects for Health care Participants: From Vision to Reality

Sean T. Devenney
Those who have read our newsletter in the past know that it is designed to provide "quick hit" guidance and thoughts on a limited topic as a first step in helping our friends, clients and hopefully future clients (collectively "friends") to obtain enough knowledge to consider the issues. In short, these articles are designed to help our friends identify issues so that they can prepare to address them. In this article it is my hope to provide our health care friends with a very basic starting point to understanding the decisions that will need to be made to move a construction project from vision to reality.

In 2014, the Indiana Medical Licensing Board passed regulations establishing standards and protocols for physicians to follow when prescribing opioids to treat their patients participating in chronic pain management programs. The regulations are intended to curb the potential for opioid abuse in chronic pain management programs and hopefully, provide the intended pain relief while at the same time protecting against addiction and diversion.

Attorneys and staff from DSV participated in the Child Advocates Superhero Run at Fort Harrison State Park on June 24th.  The Superhero Run is an annual fundraiser to support Child Advocates' mission to ensure every child in Indianapolis has a safe and secure home free of abuse.  DSV was proud to sponsor this year's event that raised over $70,000.
