In the beginning, and for many years thereafter, Special Olympics held an annual awards ceremony and dinner for the athletes at The Swinging Door. Since its inception in 1983, the Bowling program also had a small get together at the bowling alley each year to recognize its participants.
In 2007, the two events were combined into one - the "Athletic Banquet". Last weekend, The Arc held the Athletic Banquet at the Safari Texas. It was a fun celebration honoring our many dedicated coaches and volunteers, while recognizing the achievements of all of our athletes!
