BC News & Highlights ~ June 2018
Happy Summer Break
Summer is in full swing and we hope each of you are enjoying time with family and friends and reflecting on the small things that matter most in life. Summer is a valuable time for us as a school district to reflect on the past year and begin preparations for the year ahead.

The 2017-2018 school year was an exceptional  year for our school district. Numerous steps have been taken in our efforts for continuous improvement in all areas. We are continuing our work towards our vision to be a model school district for excellence in student success, opportunities, and safety, exemplified through our commitment to our students’ educational experiences.  Together we are making a visible difference for our students, families, and future generations of Bulldogs!

As we begin preparations for the 2018-2019 school year, we encourage all of you to help us continue the work we have started this past year and to stay connected in your child's educational experiences here at Bloom-Carroll Local Schools.

We would like to once again thank you for your support and wish each of you a wonderful summer break!

Parent Corner:
What Parents Need to Know about JUULING
Chances are many parents may not be aware of a recent trend taking place among teens with the use of e-cigarettes – known as Juuls or Juuling.

School officials at the national, state, and local levels are seeing a significant increase in incidents involving students possessing or using Juuls or e-cigarette products. It is important for parents and students to be aware of this issue and how manufactures are designing devices that can be mistaken for items as simple as a flash-drive. Possession or use of these devices or the fluids they contain can result in disciplinary consequences and impact extracurricular participation as well.

Our administration routinely addresses this concern with our students; however, our district, other local districts, and schools across the nation are seeing a spike in this issue.

Please take a few minutes to watch the videos included in this e-newsletter to learn more about the use and dangers of Juuls.
